internal vs. external GPS antenna

I am about to order an new hummingbird 788 and have the choice of internal vs. external antenna. I am going to assume that the external gets better reception and the internal is just easier to install. any other pro and cons on the two options?

as long as you dont have a hardtop youll be fine

Yes. My Dads hard top penn yan has trouble once awhile picking up the signal for his garmin. I have a 787 c2 humminbird with a external, just incase i win some money and get a hard top 2 put it in

Internal is good, External is best.

I have a external I didn't like the internal one if the GPS mod fails just get a new one if it's internal you have to send in the whole unit
