  2. We started with the snagging in 1975, I believe ?  That was the only way we knew of at the time, to catch them. Then we discovered the will readily wack cleos  ,especially at night, when the run came in ( although many said it was impossible to make a King strike a bait) we had a ball once we gained some knowledge. It's been a good many years now, and were still having fun. Tight Lines to all.

  3. Stats say there have been more deer taken in the past 75 years with .30-.30 's than any other calibers combined. It and the .35 Rem were the guns of choice from the 40's thru the 60's when the "newer calibers" were marketed.  I love my .30-.30 's so much I have just added a Thompson Center Contender Handgun,  14" factory ported barrel , and an aim point lighted dot scope, extremely accurate, and loads of fun !!!  Makes deer hunting a real challenge. Especially with the new Hornady ballistic tip 180 grain loads !

  4. Shawn, I have 2 Big Jon,  manual, 4' boom , Captains Pak downriggers, W@ith Swivel Bases, and Big Jon "free and Easy" releaseBig Jon rod holder attached to each down rigger.. Cable on each is OK, No weights.Good Very usable condition, I just bought electric Big Jons, and dont need these.  Located at Port Ontario, NY (Pulaski, NY)  $225.00 Jack 607-321-5624

  5. I had mine on a 4x4 inch piece of aluminum, with a 1/2" aluminum electric conduit welded to it, and then threaded a pair of Big Jon 12" arms with pulleys, Bolted to the hardtop (or weld to the rocket launchers), and each side of the hardtop,  had a clamp on Big Jon  reel, worked great as it was 6' above the deck.

  6. Has anyone had experience with the 4' Fiberglass arms  on the older Big Jon Captains pak 4' downriggers, Are the arms as strong as aluminum ? I'm intending on using them on a 16' side console, probably use the mostly for walleye, and shallow inshore salmon ( 60 feet or less), I do have 6 Lb, as well as 8Lb weights, Thanks

  7. Great memories...............I took my daughter deer huntin when she was 8 years old, of course she got bored, and started to build 4 or 5 small snowmen in our ground blind, ......she is now 32 years old, and I still give her some type of snow man for Christmas, salt shakers, ornaments, etc........we'll never forget her fist deer hunt.......cherish those memories !!
