I went through the same decision last winter, upgraded from big jon protournaments, and splurged on the traxstech riggers.....simply amazing riggers......Scotty hard stops are what scared me away and hated the manual down on the electric scotties.....soft stop feature with the digital key pad is where it is at....rigger fires from 120 down and auto up and reset and auto down back to 120 without watching the counter......jig feature also put a lot of fish in the boat....you won't be disappointed

have group 29 interstates now and have been stellar for 5 years, previous to that deka marines 31 size on my last boat and they were great too, both good options

I have a 200$ fishhawk gift certificate to be used directly at fishhawk, won it at the tightlines tournament last year in a raffle at the captains meeting, was going to switch over my depthraider but change of plans, selling for 100$, shoot me a message if interested

Save yourself the time and agony and move on from cracker before rerigging. You will have a clean boat to sell and have all your extras already taken off, I would chalk it up as lesson learned about crackers

Not sure about all the uv hype, many of the manufactures advertise as "uv" tape, is just the colour pattern 948 from WTP and wtp tape company does not claim that to be uv tape. Uv or not, the tape does have good low light refractory and is high flash in bright sun. That being said "uv" tape is mostly blue/purple hues and I am a green guy. Started to play around with the tapes that familiar bite offers, and the "chinook hunter true uv", is impressive "uv" tape with green hues.

the 50/200 will work fine on shallow water, it is actually a much more expensive transducer than the 83/200. Save your money, and use the 200hz setting individually or combined with the down imaging screens at 400 and 800hz, you actually have 3 sonar options for shallow water with that transducer

moemoe I hope you know Wally personally to be saying that.
Greg Magee owns the Blue Fairways the 50' and owns a company, Magee Insurance Group
Wally captains the boat
The Blue Fairways is Sponsored by the Fishing and Hunting Forum which I hope after watching the Salmon Showdown
you guys roam around the forum and join in the conversations. Maybe even tell us about yourself, what boat you are and what tournaments you fish.
no harm ment and not a personal attack....enjoy watching the shows you guys produce, and wally seems like a very personable guy...napolean reference was more captain of short stature with the biggest boat just makes him more recognizable
