    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

    ====================

    Nice day to be on the water. Started out in 250ft. and trolled out to 330ft. The best depths were 260-270ft. and 315ft. Three were over 9lbs and the others were between 2.5lbs and 5.5lbs. Whenever I catch a fish it seems to always be a rainbow. This is my first year fishing on Lake Ontario, any suggestions on how to catch salmon? Is their anything defferent you have to do to catch salmon compared to the rainbows?

  2. I'm new with using downriggers. To better my chances I would like to start using 2 rods with 1 downrigger.

    The downrigger on my boat is aimed off to the side and has one rod holder that's located in the middle and I have another rod holder that hooks on to the side of the boat. Should the rod towards the back of the boat be used for the higher

    line, or should the rod towards the front of the boat be used? Also, if a fish gets hooked on the bottom line should you release the upper line so they don't get tangled?

  3. I made it out on friday, after a bit of messing around I figured out how to use the downriggers. I went out in front of the Darlington powerplant and marked hundreds of fish. I tried everything I had but not a bite. It was nice to get out for the first time of the year and the first time on lake ontario.

  4. I bought new boat this year and it came with downriggers. I have never used downriggers before, and I was

    looking for some tips and techniques on how to use them. I will be fishing mostly out of bowmanville.

    I would also like some help on types of lures, colours and if I should be using flashers and fllies.

    Any help is appreciated
