Floyd hales fish huts on Lake Simcoe. They have ice bungalows that are very comfortable. You would fish for Lake Trout, Whitefish and the odd ling. Their always on the fish since they have been there for so many years.
Good Luck

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
Nice day to be on the water. Started out in 250ft. and trolled out to 330ft. The best depths were 260-270ft. and 315ft. Three were over 9lbs and the others were between 2.5lbs and 5.5lbs. Whenever I catch a fish it seems to always be a rainbow. This is my first year fishing on Lake Ontario, any suggestions on how to catch salmon? Is their anything defferent you have to do to catch salmon compared to the rainbows?
-
If you put a cheater line on your downrigger rod, does it count as your second line.
-
Made it out again today from Port Darlington. I boated 4 rainbows and missed 2 more.

Went out in front of St. Marys cement this morning. Fished 100-140fow, 2 kings, 8# 6oz and 2#. Caught on an NK 28 watermelon and a double orange crush. Anybody else have any luck out there?

I'm new with using downriggers. To better my chances I would like to start using 2 rods with 1 downrigger.
The downrigger on my boat is aimed off to the side and has one rod holder that's located in the middle and I have another rod holder that hooks on to the side of the boat. Should the rod towards the back of the boat be used for the higher
line, or should the rod towards the front of the boat be used? Also, if a fish gets hooked on the bottom line should you release the upper line so they don't get tangled?

Has anyone been fishing from Cobourg to Whitby area? I have been out three times, marked a lot of fish but no bites.
-
I made it out on friday, after a bit of messing around I figured out how to use the downriggers. I went out in front of the Darlington powerplant and marked hundreds of fish. I tried everything I had but not a bite. It was nice to get out for the first time of the year and the first time on lake ontario.

I would like to catch salmon the most but i'm not to picky.
-
They are really old manual cannon downriggers, I am not sure of the model.
-
I bought new boat this year and it came with downriggers. I have never used downriggers before, and I was
looking for some tips and techniques on how to use them. I will be fishing mostly out of bowmanville.
I would also like some help on types of lures, colours and if I should be using flashers and fllies.
Any help is appreciated

I'm looking to head out form Port Darlington Marina. Can anyone let me know if the ice is gone from the harbour.

Can anyone tell me what some advantages of the different sizes of dipsey divers are?
