Thanks. It looks like a great unit. 500 rms will be plenty of power. I like the color screen too.

I am looking to get a new sonar for trout and salmon . I don't want to spend much more than 250$. Any suggestions?

Has anybody been out of sodus latley? I was going to go tuesday but it was rough. went shooting instead. Going saturday. Wnted to know if and where they are biting. Thanks.

minnow over sinker. Works great out by the buoys that mark the beginning of the channel. Closer to the channel or off to the sides of it in shallower water use crappie jigs 16th ounce with spikes. Have limited out every time in past years. Good luck

Thanks. Might be going out of sodus tuesday. If salmon still aren't doin much try for browns.

Easy way to tell kings from cohos is that kings are black on the inside of their mouth unlike cohos.

Got on the water at six in the morning. Hour before any action. Had three hits. fourth hit got five-six pound brown. Fith hit on dipsey got an eight pounder. two more hits on riggers and went in. Worst day this year. Hoping to get 17 + brown-no show. Anybody catching anything out of sodus?

Pfd's will keep you above but thats not the main concern in the winter. Hypothermia is. I'll just have to use my penn yan more often.
-
There is one at arneys marina in sodus point. Nice boat. Family has always had penn yans and love them.
-
I also use anglers pals and love them. For dipseys i use home made rodholders that i made.

How deep is the temp? I won't have down temp till next summer soo I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
-
I just run 15 pound big game on my downrigger rods-almost never get a break off
-
I also made a homemade mast and I used large line spools obtained at local baitshop for the reels. put metal plates on ends mast was a metal pipe.
-
Red and white dare devil
black and gold straight rapala-any size-I usually troll w/ these
Large mepps
X-raps
Yo-zuri silver minnow

I have manual proos downriggers on my Penn Yan and cannons on my lund. I just wondered what everyone has for downriggers. I like both types.

Pier fishing
in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)

I am thinking of pier fishing either sodus or summerville. Should I just cast spoons or use j-plugs or jerkbaits. When is the best time in the fall to go. Thanks.
