  1. I plan on making up some slinky's for the Lower Niagara River and was wondering what weight is usually required for the current at this location. I will be using 1/4" Para chord and #4 buck shot. The commercial made ones usually run from 1/2 oz. up to 3/4 oz. As I will be fishing from the bank this seems a little heavy to me. But then again, I'm used to fishing the smaller tribs with smaller flows. Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated.

  2. I plan on giving the Lower Niagara area a shot this weekend. Of the three main areas, Whirlpool, Devils Hole and the Power Authority, which would someone suggest be the best area for this time of year? I've seen a lot of video posts of people float fishing these areas from the bank and wonder if a slip float or fixed float is the best rig and what depth is best? I'll be fishing fresh skein and egg sacs, but am not afraid to throw hardware if needed. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
