  1. Quality Time,

Thanks for the reply. I am getting my boat this Saturday and honestly I could go either way as far as the lakes go. I fished Cayuga last year however I went out last weekend on Seneca and liked it as well. Both southern ends produce fish. I have heard there is more bait fish in Cayuga than Seneca and have heard Seneca's water gets rougher. Was curious how many others would agree or disagree to those statements or had other pros and cons to the two lakes. I dont think I could go wrong either way... just curious.

  2. Alright Gent I have a poll question for you...

Based on a fishing standpoint alone and no other deciding factors...

Where would you rather get a boat slip and fish out of....? Watkins or Ithaca? Remaining at the southern ends....

  3. Gents,

I am approaching my second year fishing Cayuga and getting ready to stock up on some spoons and fly set-ups.

I am curious what everyone's "Go To" spoons are?

Also what is everyone's "Go To" spin doctor / fly set up? (I hear mountain dew spin doctor... which one of them?)

    Thanks,

    John

  4. Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to all those anglers that gave me some guidance and direction on this website. I have boated fish the last four times I have been out. This is a pic of last nights catch. We caught one on a downrigger at 80' on a purple/black spoon. The other one was caught on a Dipsy 210' of line out w/green A-Tom-Mik fly. We were fishing 90-120 FOW trolling 1.8-2.2 knots with the current.

I do not have equipment to give me my down speed... if I want to maintain the same presentation when I troll back against the current do I need to adjust my speed up or down?

  5. Frisco,

Thank you for the input. I have been told green by a lot of people so I have a lot of green in the tackle box. Bass hot spots and catfish holes seem to get carried to the gravesite. This is definetly a different atmosphere and this sight is amazing. So many people willing to help. It is appreciated gentlemen. Thank you

  6. Andy,

Thank you for the input. I have tried both (Size 0) 3-1/4" and (Size 1) 4-1/8" Dipsy's. What do you use? I targeted the 30-40' depth when I used them however I did not have line counter reels at the time. (buying two today). I have 50-lb braided spiderwire on 7' MH Rods. I will try the 40-60 / 60-40 method next time. Thanks for the color tips.

    Thanks,

    John
