  1. I got a few from shore on one of the break walls near the small boat harbor but the water was moving pretty quick where I was so a kayak wouldn't be a good idea. Here's one I picked up last weekend.

  2. He only needed a couple stitches where they cut him open and there was a little bit of blood when they pulled the hooks out but it wasn't bad

  3. Thanks for the info guys I wasn't able to get a chance to go with the weather and everything. But I did get a chance to talk to someone that said this is a great time of year for them from shore. He said he fishes from the beach using a salted clam for bait and has just hammered them this year.

  4. Took him to an immediate care figured it would be alot cleaner than using a pair of fishing pliers. It was probably a good idea 2 of the hooks were bent sideways and they had to cut them out.

  6. I'm headed to the NJ/NYC area this weekend to visit some family and friends and unfortunately cannot bring the boat because I will be bringing a trailer home. I know it may be a long shot but does anyone know a place to try fishing from shore? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Couldn't agree more! Btw to anyone who is interested the dec is going to be doing a state of the lake meeting for the western finger lakes this Monday in Lima. Meeting starts at 7 but at 6 there's going to be a meeting on contributing to angler diaries. Here is the link.

Is there any other way to get involved with the angler diaries other than going to this meeting? I would like to attend but it's a pretty far drive for me.

  9. I was out on the pier Saturday night until 4:30 AM and landed a 20 lb King on a green and white lil cleo at 2:30 and had a hit on an egg sack around 3 but lost it due to my line breaking. I saw 2 or 3 caught at the end of the pier around 1:30 2ish but other than that it seemed like a slow night. I'm hoping the fishing picks up but I'm not sure this is the first year I have gone pier fishing.
