Hi Duke,
Does the Fish Hawk work good?.....what temperature range is good for Salmon and Steelhead?. Thinking of getting one too but still unsure if it will help increase the number of fish in the boat. Is the cost worth it?
Thanks

Was a beautiful morning, a little foggy but one you went to deep water it cleared up. Saw a most amazing sunrise and soon the fish started to dance.
They were exceptionally energetic this morning and all of them danced on the water all the way to the boat. Thus lost a few as the jumps, turns and twists were amazing
This is what fishing is all about.....loved it

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
Another lovely day to be on the water, got the boat in at 7.30 am and was out in deep water with rods in by 8 am. Had three in the boat by 9.45, two on the rigger using the orange jointed repella and one flat lining with repella black.
Had another strike when reeling out for flat lining, the clicker was off so couldnt set the hook, saw the fish take the lure and jump a couple of feet and was gone in a second
All in all a fun day on the water and amazing BBQ fish to complete the long weekend

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
It was a beautiful day, had a down rigger going and a Dipsy, not much happening so decided to put the third and flat line....within 5 minutes the reel was screaming and had a strong fight on my hands as had a 7lb line on the rod.....when almost at the boat ....the rod broke and started to fight the fish by hanging on to the line....was able to get it under control after mayhem on the boat but finally got it boated. The second was on the DR at 35 ft and was no problem bringing it in. The third was a huge one and after an extended fight got it tangled in the down rigger wire (yes forgot to bring it up in the excitement haha) and lost it. All in all a wonderful day on the water

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
Got on the water around 7 am, it was a beautiful sunny day, didnt mark any fish so kept moving south west and started marking fish in around 170 fow, got the first hit around 10.30, it hit hard on the rod with the dipsy and the reel started screaming, it was fish on and the excitement began, I held the rod in one hand and tried to reel the second rod and downrigger up as to avoid any tangles during the fight, after a 25 - 30 minutes fight finally got the king to the boat and it was quite challanging to get it into the net as i was fishing alone and the fish was not done fighting yet. After almost losing my net, finally got the king safely into the boat and into the live well.
The second hit came about 40 minutes later , while I was changing lures on the downrigger rod thus avoiding the problem of getting the 2nd line out of the water and out of the way. It was a beautiful fiesty rainbow and didnt take long to get her in the boat compared to the king......as I decided to keep both the fish, it was time to head on home for the BBQ
Another satisfying day on the water packed with excitement

Hi
Watched the fireworks from the boat at Ashbridges Bay, what an amazing sight it was. I was a little worried about the ride back in the dark but all went very smoothly....it was a busy day on the water and cops were everywhere checking docs and stuff
Happy Canada Day....Happy 4th of July to our American friends!
Next goal the Air show from the boat!
-
Wow! that sounds great, I will surely remember to check this out. I think the air show takes place during the CNE exhibition in august
Thanks for the information
-
I went out on Sunday from Scar Bluffs but didnt mark any bait fish at all.....no hits and not much action at all ...was using green spin doctor and green flies mainly
how big was the one you boated?
good luck in the tourney
-
Thank you very much for the information, looking forward to seeing the fireworks from the boat, it must be quite a sight and no rush !!

Hi
Just wondering if anyone has had the pleasure of seeing Canada Day fireworks from their boat in the past. I am planning on seeing the fireworks from my boat this year and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best place to launch the boat from and where to anchore it to get a good view, any pointers on night driving the boat will be helpful too. I usually launch my boat from Scarborough Bluffs
Thanks

Hi
Thank you all for you comments and information
All I know is that the Salmon tasted amazing! The meat was firm, pink and tasted very yummy indeed. However I did avoid drinking a can of coke with it so as not to overdo on the pollutant levels......just kidding
Have a great day
