These were $140 plus tax and shipping new. Used by myself, a hobbyist for only a very few weekends on Lake Ontario. Surprisingly, the water fleas didn’t cause a problem. These were excellent and their tangle free nature made fishing a breeze. Also, search Google for the model and you’ll find that some guy in 2004 or 2007 listed some for $40 each, good luck finding that deal for like new rods.

$100 each plus shipping, and I have six. I want to get back what I paid for the six and pass along a great deal. Ill update this listing to let you know when they are sold. I dont visit here often so please email [email protected]

Selling off my set of four SG47LC reels. Used by hobbyist for a limited number of trips to Ontario and always stowed properly. Never used in Saltwater. They have some typical scratches from handling. Spooled with 17lb Maxima Chameleon as a bonus. Last fall was a final trip to Ontario and prior to the trip, all my reels were stripped down and checked over and the felt drag washers were replaced with carbon washers. These reels sell for around $55 all day on Evilbay and I'd rather sell direct for $60 each. Buy one or buy four. Payment in advance plus shipping, can fit four in a USPS flat rate box for $11. On Saturday Oswego was unproductive. In the afternoon, we loaded the boat and planned to fish mexico on Sunday, wise choice. We launched and headed out to about 50' of water, trolled north, heading for the conglom of boats. Started marking bait clouds and fish in 60'. Trolled south in 62' and NBK spoon on the wire dipsy fired. Not long after two riggers fired with flasher fly combos, green glow HS and mtn dew Spinny. Things slowed and trolled 40-65 through midday. Saw fish jump on surface and chase the cannonballs but no takers. Last of three weekends on the lake. 6/6 overall and had a fun time.

Thanks Tim, ill try lowering them with the rod to the side. I havent been freespooling, lowering using the motor. Ill try 6-12' leads out in Oswego this weekend.

I see you are from Kingston, im up the river in Troy and heading out to Oswego this weekend. Good luck, if you read for a few hours on this site, you can get a starting point to go out and wash some lures. Oswego isnt as busy as Mexico and when the lake boils and the harbor has fish, can be a plan B. Good Luck

A Charter captn at the dock said that 20' back from the ball was too far for SD's. Im twisting my line before putting on a double-looped rubber band and attaching to my ball. I think that the problem is rapidly lowering them and they chase the ball vertical, catching my bowing rod to the reel. makes sense? We didnt catch that many fish this weekend and I think my fault was not hugging the bottom with the cannonballs and angering the kings. I was 40 and 50 down in 100' of water for example with the riggers but we marked fish on the bottom. I used greens and Mountain Dew combos only landing 2 for 2.

I have been running SD fly combos from 6 to 20' rubber banded behind the ball and often get the fly twisted around my line. Im wondering if my mag10A is lowering them too fast and the fly hits my bowed line from my rod? Is there a trick to eliminating the tangles? Im running double sampos. Thanks

I think i found a solution. I used a 6 inch piece of dacron, the type used for J-pluts and found it is hollow inside. It is a courser braid and heavier than the jacketing on 27# leadcore. I used a very small nail to insert into the cut end of the dacron line and then a lighter to melt the fibers together. I removed the nail and put about 3" of mono in one end. I secured it with a Willis Knot. Then I doubled over my 7 strand mailin wire and inserted it into the other end of the dacron. I made it long enoug so that the doubled wire will be in the final willis knot but not much past it. I secured the wire end with another Willis knot. It looks like it will work well. I then used a lighter to singe the end of the dacron where the 7 strand goes into it, making it pointy. I put about 30' of 30# Andes Mono on the end so that the wire will be all on the spool when horsing in Sammy. Should work. Anyone else done similar?

I like the idea of 30-40' of 30# Mono at the end of my 7 strand. Im trying to figure oout a decent knot that will pass through my guides though.

I was wondering what knots will pass through my guides ok? I want to add 30-50' of 50# Andes to run slide divers on and have the wire all on the spool when the fish gets close to the net.

I have a kink in the spool, anyone cut and splice 7strand with a small knot?

I've used some tony pefia knots to tie mono to my 50# powerpro setups. if it will work.

Hey Jack, Im in a similar situation, heading back to Oswego after about 6 years. We used to do great with cut flasher/ cut bait and dodger/howie fly program. I'll be glad to share what is or is'nt working while im out there. Randy

Im planning to dock at oswego and take a few friends out on the weekends of the Aug 27,28 Sept 3,4,5 and Sep 10,11. I havent been on Ontario with the boat since 2005, when we did well for Chinooks. I would like to network with anyone else willing to share what is working. My boat is Cabin Midget, dont ask, my boat has a midget cuddy cabin, lol. Anyone else planning on these weekends?
