Three nice size Browns caught out of a tributary of lake Ontario, in Webster, this fall.

I wonder if they are good eating. I ate a live one on a dare as a kid

Have they proven to be a nuisance at all? Are they a concern like other invasives?

I was fishing in Irondequoit Bay yesterday, about half way between Devil's Cove and Empire Blvd, on the Webster side. I saw something big and orange floating in the water. I thought it was trash and was going to dispose of it but when I paddled up to it I say that it was a basketball sized goldfish, floating on it's side, still breathing but on it's way out. I wished I had my phone, and was almost tempted to bring it in to take a picture but I decided to let it die in peace...

I am assuming that it was someone's pet, and they released it. I have heard of goldfish getting very big if not in a bowl...

Has anyone else had any encounters with big goldfish in Lake Ontario?

I don't have any lighting on my kayak. So all the action is in the mouth of the river? Nothing up river at all?

Does anyone have any advice for me? I want to fish for trout this evening. If I put my kayak in at the mouth of the genessee, will I have a chance of catching any trout? Are they still out in the lake or are they in the river? What about south of highfalls? Thanks.

That bowfind is incredible. I've never seen one so huge. Nice catch! Where do you speak of when you say Cranberry? I only know of Cranberry Lake, in the adirondacks.
