  1. We fished the 200-360 ft range this afternoon pretty much straight out of the chute not a very good screen out there temp fluctuated a lot. Ended up going 3/3 1 coho 1 small laker and 1 small king on the wire. Fished the area we had some screamers on, on Tuesday must be fish moved in. Giving it a go in the am maybe we will work that shallower water thanks for the report, we were contemplating making the pull to sandy in the am.

  3. I've personally loved the Sub-Troll. I like the style of having the speedometer type gauge, no sun glaring on digital numbers and the needle runs very consistent. Just make sure you crimp your wire properly when you set it up and your all good to go. Only thing I have found you need to do to make it work best at deeper depths is run a wet piece of cloth on the antenna which will be located on your down rigger arm. Personally I'm sure everyone has their own opinions on which one is the best, and some people have good/bad experiences with each company.

  4. Perfect I have some great Lakes 9 ft dipsy rods I picked up this year I'm putting them on I run 30 lb fireline on them, taking my first plunge this Sunday can't wait. 2nd year on lady o for me. Guy I fish with chartered with his father in the 80's so he's out of the loop hoping everything will be down for this year. Still had a great season last year with 5 fish over 30lb

  5. I'm sure this has been discussed before, I did a search through the forum and found no topics on it. It is kind of a "redneck" way of doing things, but however I am a farmer. My friend of mine that I fish with has access to an oriental garden in Rochester where their is bamboo that we use for extra long flagging poles for Canadian Geese/Snows. This year we decided instead of running my single mast planar boards off the front of the boat we are going to stuff 15 ft. bamboo poles in the rod holders I used for my masts'. We fixed a single canon release we don't use on the end of it and plan running our slide divers/coppers off of it. It certainly isn't the best looking way to go about it but it is hard to beat something for free . Thought I would post this on here, just and interesting way we decided to maximize our spread (Beam on my boat isn't to awful wide, but it is economical on gas-$30 for a day of trolling) and hopefully see less tangles this year when a biggin' goes sharking across the lines. Maybe someone else that has a tighter budget will benefit from this, give me your thoughts. By the way this idea came from when my fishing partner went for tuna in Jamaica. The local had bamboo outriggers with a 2 liter bottle as a rod/reel trolling for tuna at 15 MPH!
