What you snagged was a new pipe they are installing that has not sunk yet. We hung up on it also and could see it below the surface. We had 4 rods out and 2 riggers but managed to get everything back. The pipe extends beyond the white or yellow marker quite a way out. We seen it on our graph coming back up near the surface. We called to boats to inform but they did not respond and one was at the back of his boat shortly for quite a while.

Thanks for the replies. I Emailed the company but I have not heard back yet. We will be hauling boat out of water in early June and hope to decide before what work will be required then and have everything ready. I am really interested in this product. Being a full time live aboard and fishing from 3 boats this opens up a whole new world for us. Big cost for us is the 3 transducer as most times we fish from 1 boat.

Has anyone physically seen the Speed probe?  If yes, does it have a paddle wheel or a pressure plate? what is the actually size, is it the same or larger? The weight, how much more does it weigh if any? thanks in advance for any insight or information.

Not sure if anyone mentioned a line counter reel is required.

WOW! Why don't they have a water proof display. Great idea but down fall is it's not a complete package. I'm still looking at other products.

This looks very interesting but I would be looking for water proof sun readable readout mounted in cockpit. Love the 6 probes.  Jim
