Cool video. But it just makes the itch to get out on the lake worse!

Paul's info is spot on! I learned that from a friend that is a charter captain on Lake Michigan. And it does work on Erie.

I have been thinking about upgrading also and the cold waters seem to just be the same with just a few upgrades and better cosmetics. I was told if i was going to up grade go to the tekotas or just stay with the convectors.

Beautiful fish! Hope our Pa browns become that big.

Always used 3M 4200 or 5200 sealant. If you may want to remove them later use the 4200, the 5200 cures hard & the 4200 remains a little soft.

I use Kittrick Amish Outfitters 500 lb spectra board line. It is super slick & clips slide easily. 300 feet is 32.95. I added a snubber between my board and the line due to the lack of stretch in the spectra. Have also seen some use weed wacker line. The spectra has lasted a whole season and it is going on two with no wear yet. I would have to replace the regular Dacron every year and trim some off during the year due to weak spots. Hope this helps.
