Boated 2 Skippy's, went 0/5 on some bigger fish....did try my hand at alewife fishing! Boated about 20, got meat for tomorrow! Tomorrow, we are leaving port at 5am and heading out to 400' setting up and trolling north..how far down did you get those steels today?

Heading up to Lake O from Ohio for the weekend, was thinking of trying some cut bait....but i have no clue where to buy it?? Anywhere I can order it and have it overnighted??

Heading up to Olcott from Ohio tomorrow, haven't seen much on reports for Olcott/Wilson, so I thought I would stir the pot....anyone?? Plan on heading out to 150'-200' and running spoons/flasher-flies....appreciate any updates, words of advice???

Hey Richard, it was nice to meet you Saturday, we did wind up getting our Laker on Sunday, in 220' of water 20' down on a Carmel dolphin w/ a cowbell I had set up for steelies, who woulda thought?? It was a nice one, went 16lbs, got our limit by 10, all kings plus the laker, largest was 21lbs, took a nice 400' initial run...all in all GREAT weekend, glad to see you had the same luck!!

Thanks guys!! prolly be running dipsies, and tru-trips, also 1 rigger. Go to colors for me in the past have been see sick Waddler, carmel dolphin, green dolphin, raspberry dolphin, and the NBK's. Prolly start out at 2.8, that sound like the right program?? Will definitely drop some flasher/flies down as the sun comes up. Also, we seemed to do real well running luhr Jensen dodgers on all of our spoons last year, but it was our last trip at the end. Anyone else run them??

Hey fellas, I will be driving up from Ohio to fish Olcott sat/sun, appreciate any info, as I haven't seen much talk of Olcott/Wilson the last few days (colors, depth, direction)....thanks in advance!!!

Well after arriving in olcott Friday morning (and being up for 30 hrs straight) we headed out of the marina about 8am. We went out to 160 and a little east. Within 10 minutes of our first trip we had one scream on us, drag was set a little to tight and he pulled the whole rig (dipsy/snubber/spoon). 10 minutes after that's we were on again, landed a 14lb king. Spent the rest of the morning sorting through small kings, silvers, and steelhead. Did manage one real nice steel about 15 lbs. All in all weent roughly 11 for 15 on Friday. Saturday got off to a slow start, with lots of small kings. Went through a 2 hr lull before getting a screamer about 1pm yesterday, boxed a 21 lbr., shortly after got a double on kings, both 13 lbs'ish. Went 10 for 15 on Saturday. Fished this morning from 530 to 8, one good hit and one 4 pound silver.....all in all, for a first trip, I think we did pretty well. Thanks to everybody who helped with info!!!!

well thanks for all the help fellas hooking the boat up now should be on Lake Ontario at dawn. I'll keep you guys updated on how I do!!!

Thanks again all!....Is anyone going out Fri/Sat/Sun?...It seems the fisherman are pretty friendly up that way, I will have ship-shore on, not sure what channel is popular up that way for the fisherman?? Certainly wouldn't mind working together, not that I doubt myself, but it never hurts....

Good tip, thanks...at times the current in Erie can be very strong, but it usually is negligible. I will certainly pay attention on that...

I have an HDS 7....I rely on it heavily for speed running in Erie, if I'm too fast, I deploy the socks!

Appreciate all the help fellas......Is the public launch in Olcott a good place to launch/park? No trouble breaking into vehicles or anything?....Any input on hotels in the Olcott area?...Closest bait shop, why not buy some more lures, right???

Looking like a WNW @ 10 for Saturday, how will that add up in waves out of Olcott? I assume still very fishable??
