Thinking of coming up in April for some browns, how is the water, still have ice? I know it's a tough question, any rough idea on when to come up? Like mid to late April? Would like to make some plans.

Would like to come up to Lake Ontario this spring for some browns. Some where around the Sotus Bay area. Any advice on where to go? What to use? Have a 17 ft Lund. Will get some planer boards.

Thanks for the reply's Backlash33r and reelintense, sounds like some good info. Not sure what to make of the ice conditions, not sure of a good time to go, still thinking around the beginning of May, but not so sure this year...

Is anything biting near the bay bridge? near the  bay bridge sport shop? That's were we are staying, or should we head right for the lake?

Yes, have Cannon Easy Troll mechanical downrigger (may have a second rigger too), friend has a copper box, spoons, but will pick up some lures this weekend.

I'm from Pa and coming up with a friend to Sodus Bay in less than 2 weeks. Looking forward to the trip. Just purchased a used 17 ft Lund several months ago and want to go fishing.
