  1. I just read an article that the DEC netted a white sturgeon in Black River Bay. It's was an oddity by no means but technically the picture of the fish they took violated their own rules as prohibited are not allowed to be photographed either.

  2. I miss that Fays. Tackle assortment was always the best. Many fond memories headed up to the cottage with my brothers and mom in tow waiting anxiously to stop there. I'll never forget those days.

  3. Getting skunked. Ant suggestions. On the bay now running 6 planers. Got skunked yesterday on walleye. Please share any info you have and I'll do the same if we get any. Thanks

  4. I'm headed up Friday. Will be fishing all of chaumont. Last year was amazing for walleye. Boated 20 or so opening weekend. Ranged in size from 5lb to 13lb. Hoping it's like that this year. Due to the late ice and extreme cold this winter I'm thinking it will be similar. Most likely will start at the mouth of three mile bay as it was very productive last spring. Worm harnesses worked well but our best bite was on husky jerks.

  5. When I was a kid my older brother caught one that would have surely been the state record. He fought it for 45 minutes as it dragged our little 12 ft boat around. My twin brother and I watched from shore as he and his friend fought it. It took up the whole back of the boat when they finally came to shore with it. We measured it at 46" but never got a weight. Being so young we had no idea it was as big as it w as. The elders said we used to catch them all the time that big. That's what they always say. Lol. Anyways we missed out on having a state record. BTW the state record was caught within a few miles from us on chaumont bay.

  6. Walleyes are in chaumont bay still. Fish 20-25 ft of water. Put your stick baits back 50 with 200 on planner boards. Around Pt salubrious is doing well as well as the shoal drop off.

  7. Does anyone have any knowledge of being allowed to commercial fish on Chamount Bay? I was walleye fishing when a boat drifted into my path. My planer boards were out 200 ft. As I neared the boat I noticed they began to pull nets in. BTW the nets were loaded with perch. They took off before I could get close enough to read the hull number. Any info would be helpful. Think I might report them to the DEC.
