  1. Magdas with a $10 carbon fiber drag washer upgrade, I ran these reels for the first 2 years I started salmon fishing. You're not going to find a better performing reel for under $50. That being said now I run Coldwaters for salmon and convectors for browns/walleye.

Any more info to share on the drag upgrade? Im running Magdas now but only thing is their drag sucks.

  2. the convectors are good reels, but if you are only going to be chasing landlocks, lakers, browns,or walleye, just get the magda pro 15 0r 20's.i have around 20 of them I use to chase salmon and lakers in the Adirondacks and they work just fine.no need for the more expencive reel.you can get the magda pros for under 40 bucks.

Im running the Magda now, i like them but would like little better drag. Maybe stick with them just not sure.

  3. Looking into purchasing new reels, I can’t decide between the okuma cold waters or the convectors. Any info or recommendations? Running blue diamonds for rods. Mainly just land lock Atlantics and walleye with occasional laker.

Turn key ready. Well maintained Yamaha 90hp 4 stroke unsure the exact hours but they are low. Runs awesome. It has a 4hp 4 stroke Yamaha kicker with 3 gallon tank, very low hours. I bought it as a left over last year. minn kota ipilot 60” shaft, Bimini top,2 live wells, 4 seats, spare aluminum prop, lots of storage, heavy duty lund canvas cover. Helix 5 sonar gps combo, 2 cannon mag 10 with swivel bases and extensions, 2 rod trees. 2 bank charger.  Other extras I probably forgot about or will throw in when found. Floors are solid as a rock. Transom is solid too. All lights and pumps run. Yes there are a couple battle scars, front little anchor hider cover has a small tear,  small stain in the carpet, and couple scratches, logo on the seats is peeling some, honestly the only real mark is up on the nose, a dock cleat caught it just right on the bump seam very small mark. Trailer is in good shape, bearings were checked and have fresh grease. Always non ethanol gas. Will have full tank of gas when sold! I am the second owner. I love this boat but it is time to upgrade to a boat more geared towards newer interest. Serious buyer we can take it for a test ride. Title in hand.

  5. Hi all, this is my first time posting! (Sorry noob) with that said...

I have been getting into lead core for landlock Atlantics. I currently only have one set up with 10 color, no backing. Usually only use 5 colors and the six just coming out of the rod tip. As i have been researching i see alot of talk about set ups with 4-5 colors and braid backing.

I was wondering when using 5 color set up and letting out lead plus any amount of braid, how does it affect the depth the lead goes? Dose it stay the approximate 5ft per color? How much braid do you like to let out?

I appreciate all and any info as i look into get a couple rods set up!!

    Thanks kyle
