The trophy picture would be to be holding a king with the eclipse happening in the background.

We were only a few minute off from catching this one in totality! We had 2 salmon on at the same time but the other broke off. The half hour before and after totality was good for us today.

We run our Cannon downriggers in a track with a 4" pedestal on our Lund. I run them on a 45* angle from the boat and don't extend the booms. Most of the time I'm shallow water fishing with these and running 10 or 12lb Sharks. On occasion I have run 15lb weights. It doesn't flex the gunnels this way. If you have access to put in a backer plate it's always a good idea.

What length track are you using for the rigger and diver rod holders?

  3. Hi. I’ll be going out on Cayuga with some friends in a couple weeks. We are hoping to target landlocks. We’ve only fished Canandaigua and never targeted salmon before. Any suggestions? Probably launching out of the north end.

  4. So I purchased a SpoonCrank Box as recommended by some on here. I think its going to be just what I was looking for. My question is how do some of you identify your spoons (Michigan Stingers/Northern King) after you open them and place them in the box? I understand many of you have been using many of these for years but I do not have them all memorized yet. Is there any printable charts with the spoon and names?

When I buy new spoons, I take a picture of the spoon with the color pattern on the barcode and save it on my phone. Probably not the best solution but it’s worked so far. IMG_3117.JPG
