Yeah, its got a transom somewhat different than the kind I am familiar with. Gonna start researching kicker brackets now.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I'm thinking that if a kicker can be fitted to a 17ft Lund, it should be doable on a Stanley Mink as well.

I have a 19' welded aluminum full console, 4 batteries w a 8HP and it does fine
Good to hear. That's what I am thinking about, a 6 to 10hp.

Mink DC, I don’t think you will find much direct info on Stanley Boats on this site as most of the guys are from US side of the lake. When you say that Stanley and it’s dealer aren’t “keen” on the idea, I guess I’d question why? You might try some Canadian sights to connect with other Stanley owners. Maybe a Facebook owners group?
Thanks for the heads up. I will try those other sources. I reckon the manufacturer and dealer are concerned about legal liability from approving alterations from the original boat (mounting bracket, for example).

Thanks whaler1, that's exactly what I'm thinking, but neither the dealer or the manufacturer are keen on the idea.
Anyone else had issues with putting a kicker on a 16 to 18 foot aluminum boat?

Hi all,
Am wondering if anyone has some thoughts on a kicker for a Stanley Mink Dual Console (18ft welded aluminum).
Got some great information more generally from Kuba's "How big of a kicker" topic.
Anything more specific on Stanley boats would be much appreciated. Really want to put a kicker on (for low trolling speeds, and as a back up limp home motor) but am getting friction from some sources on the wisdom of the idea.
If you have experience with a kicker on any 18ft aluminum boat, would be interested in that too.
Cheers

Hi all,
Great site here. After lurking a bit I figure it's time to sign up. I have a Stanley Mink Dual Console (welded aluminum, 18ft) on the way for this spring, going to be fitted with a 115 yamaha. Idea is to do some fishing and island exploring on north-eastern Lake Ontario off Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. My plan is to set it up with a six rod spread, and spend a few years figuring out how to catch fish with that. Will mostly be on the more sheltered big bays, but will take it out on the open lake when the extended forecast is good (been here long enough to see how angry LO can get). Fantastic information in the existing topics/threads that have already answered a lot of my questions, so thanks all for that. Am wondering about a kicker for the Mink DC, so am heading over to this old boat now.
Cheers
