  1. With the forecast for rain we decided to stay around the house this morning. I was lazy and stayed in but my daughter went out though and passed on 3 different bucks. Here is the biggest of the 3. We are gonna head down to our lease for the evening sit. Last night between 3 of us we saw close to 50 deer from on stand there, just need the right one to come by.11657.thumb.jpeg.1636203265e83d168d389a58f7e145b0.jpeg11658.thumb.jpeg.084b7b5837e30e07ef6bc29690a41948.jpeg

A smart phone has a GPS, the GPS in the phone does not work off cellular it works anywhere a GPS works. The OnX app allows you to download maps for "offline" use (No Internet Connections), the other feature that is really handy is that it uses the public tax maps to show property lines and property owners info. The reason I like using the app instead of a stand alone gps is that it is one less thing to carry. My phone has become my GPS/Mapping, camera, video recorder, and for those extra long sits I play euchre and yahtzee on it.

  3. My daughter got the monkey off her back this morning. She scored her first bird today. It was a great morning that will make great memories. Long story short we had 2 long beards working there way to us, when 2 groups of Jakes came running in and chased the Toms out of the field. A group of 6 and a group of 4. The group of 4 came back and they are now trio instead of a quartet. What an experience having 12 red heads in the field and the Jakes ganging up on the Toms.

  4. Well this is a long shot but here goes. My daughter used my truck at the house and left the tailgate down. I drove to work today and when I got here discovered it down and my ice shanty not in the bed under the cover. So if anyone knows of a 2 man genz shanty with auger, hummingbird flasher, mr buddy heater, tackle boxes and a few other things found on the road in the Macedon, Walworth, Gandada, Penfield area. It would be my stuff. As soon as I realized it my wife got on the road but no luck. I will pay reward if found and returned.

    Thanks

  5. I work in Indiana a lot. Talking to the hunters there the single biggest improvement in the quality of the deer in their state was when they went to 1 buck per hunter. Take it during Bow your done buck hunting. I went to my processors last night to pick up some meat and saw 7 first rack bucks hanging. I wonder how many of those would not have been harvested if that was their only buck tag. I'm sure a lot of small bucks will be killed this week. I know I have been guilty of lowering my own standard to a good 2.5 yr old during the end of the bow season rationalizing that it most likely will not make it through the gun season because I pass several of them every year but don't see them make it to 3.5. That's my 2 cents, I would be in favor of one buck. Shoot what ever makes you happy. But only shoot one of them.
