As soon as the lake calmed down we had knats all over the boat, but no bees.

Same for us......My brother and I were in the same places as you last night. We had one rip on the west side of the Charlotte pier on a silver/red nose j-plug, but gone after a few seconds. Saw a couple of fish come up over there and in front of the river once the boat traffic died down. So far 0 for 3 on trips this year.....From the sounds of it I'm fishing too shallow yet????? We were out at Sandy creek Wednesday night and did nothing there either. Fished from 20-80 fow (around the mass of BYC sail boats that came out the same time as us!) Only saw 2 fish come up in about 8 fow as we were going back into the creek.

Oh well last night was a beautiful night to be on the water again.........I'll just keep trying. Sooner or later I will get one!

Thinking about trying to get my Dad out in the rain this afternoon for his first fall salmon, but I have a small boat and don't really like to get out to far into the big lake. Just wondering if it's worth the gas to go to the mouth of the Genny this evening? I fished Tuesday in the river for a little bit with no luck.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Is the catch and release open already for Bass?

Didn't make it out last night but did go out today from around 6 till about 11:30. All we caught was an 0-fer gopher.....Zero Nada...Oh well it happens. It was a beautiful day on the water though. Talked to another guy who said they only got one small brown all morning.

Might try again tonight yet.

Absolutely yes! Heading down to Alba I believe on wednesday to do a little fly fishing, and then hunting on thursday. If I get lucky on thursday, I'll be back on the Big Lake for the derby friday. If not I'm going to give it another try friday and fish on saturday till my wife calls and says to get my butt home for the wedding we are to be attending.

I believe we spoke. My brother-in-law and I have the white and blue Sea Nymph. I think we were leaving at the same time.

Hope to be back out tomorrow evening after work. I'll probably head west again but maybe a little further....lake permitting.

First Time we really got a chance to fish, after last outting was more to check out the boat..Anyways, all was quiet off of the planner boards, for 2 hours so we put down 2 down riggers and bam! Only small browns, but better than just a boat ride. We got most of our hits just west of Sandy to the first point in about 10-12 fow. We only ran the riggers down 3 ft and back 40 and 50 ft, with NK mags in silver with orange and green. It's nice to feel the pull on the rod after a long winter.

I talked to some other guys who had a lot of luck further west near Hamlin.

P.S. The docks are in now at Sandy!

I have had luck in the Bay in years past. I usually like to go in front of the houses on the right side (north of the 104 bridge) heading south. Once you get past the last channel markers head to the right and watch your depth, it will drop off quick and you can troll fairly close to shore.

Had to work again in the morning, but did get out for about 1.5-2 hours in the early afternoon. Once again the Marine forcast was for 2ft or less waves, but they were deffinitly bigger than that at times. Talked my wife into going out with my brother-in-law and I so we had three of us bouncing around like weeble wobbles out there. We did manage to catch our first brown though. It came off the planner board about 125ft back on a "Wonder Bread" color rapala.

Might try to get out tomorrow evening if the rain isn't too bad.

Got the boat out for the first time at Sandy Creek Sunday afternoon for a couple of hours. The NOAH page called for 2ft waves or less in the afternoon, but the 3-4 foot rollers made for a rough ride in my 15ft boat. Stayed close to the mouth, mostly just making sure everything was well on the boat. Did run some lures in the 8-12ft depth for a while, but no takers. Does anyone know when they usually put the docks in?

Hello all,

I'm just getting into ice fishing, and I would like to try Hemlock. Just wondering if anyone could give me a starting point? North end, South end, depth, anything would be greatly appreciated.

I fished Cranberry for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and did fairly well. Brought back about a dozen perch out of the 25 or so that I caught. Also caught some nice blue gills and a few crappie. Onle 1 fish on a tip up, the rest were all caught out of the same hole jigging with a small sweedish pimple with mousies on it.
