  1. Prefishing:

    Thurs - 1 fish

    Fri - 4 maybe 5 or 6 legal fish

Not 1 fish over 6lbs in 2 days, but we had a game plan to go from covering water from 40ft to 600ft in 2 days.

Sat - boxed 6 including BIG fish for the Pro/Am with a few unders thrown back

Sun - could only manage 4 in the box with 1 being a laker

It was tough fishing and the name of the game for us was fishing "shallow" with lead cores and riggers. DW Super Slims put several key fish in the box both days, but the BIG fish came on a NK 28 blk/silver spooked with glow/purple.

On Sun, we did find big schools of bait with big arches in 120-160FOW and set up with our favorite King program but no takers so we headed back to the skinny water. We managed enough fish to claim 3rd place in the event, BIG fish for Sat, and the West End Cup!

We would like to thank all involved in holding the event and especially thank Dreamweaver and Northern King as their spoons put the necessary fish in the box. We had NK special deliver a spoon to us that worked great the weekend before in Niagara, but unfortunately did not catch fish in these conditions. The same DW Super Slims(PK Special and Jawbreaker) that worked in Niagara produced again.

    See everyone at Oswego!

    Team Liquid Plumber

  2. Team Liquid Plumber placed 3 fish in the Spring LOC to start the year off. A fourth fish was on the leaderboard, but was eventually bumped from the top 20.

We would like to thank A-Tom-Mik and Dreamweaver as their products were part of our success. A DW Spin Doctor and an A-Tom-Mik fly combo is a deadly BIG fish catcher. Acknowledgements to Storm as well as their products played a role too.

We would like to also thank Yvan and everyone involved in the Scotty King of the Lake tournament held in Wilson. It was a very well run tournament and we look forward to fishing them in the future. Team Liquid Plumber did not fare well in this tournament as we boxed with an avg of 10lb fish the first day and did not fish the second day due to conditions.

Below are the fish weighed in for the LOC.

  3. This was my first Pro-Am. I fished with an experienced team in the Am division. The experience was two-fold consisting of excitement and enjoyment as well as disappointment and discouragement. Having fished the LOC derby the last ten years or so and many bass tournaments, I was eager to fish the Pro-Am. But on Sunday as we placed our sixth fish in the box after 1/2 hour of fishing, my enthusiasm was gone. I felt as though our team did not have the opportunity to do our best due to the rules. At the weigh-in, I heard many of the other teams were not satisfied with the rules and it seemed that they were not given the chance to fish to the best of their ability either.

Of course you can not satisfy everyone all the time with the rules, but the teams should be allowed to perform their best on game day.

Other than being disappointed by having to keep our small fish, I had excellent time and enjoyed fishing with my friends.
