  1. I think we had some 6 footers out there this morning. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I been following the reports. With my work schedule we fish when time permits, not by the reports. We gonna give it a try, hit or miss it's still better than work.Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  4. I'll read between the lines. Leaving Pennsylvania tonight, to launch in Oswego. Going to fish for Kings. Very excited kid going fishing. How do I know, Dad always knows. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Thank you for the info, I will give them a call.Sent from my SM-T810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I had to take a break from fishing for a couple of years to take care of a family member, getting back at it this year. My question is do you guys think the docks at Wrights landing will be in by the end of April, and any recommendation for lodging near Oswego (I would like to utilize the local lodges rather than the chain hotels). Thank you in advance, can't wait to get back on the water. Sent from my SM-T810 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I had a sylvan, and in the front of the boat in the middle there was a carpeted board under the gunnel. You might have to look in the carpet for the screws to remove the panel. Remove that panel and you should be able to get to it.
  8. I looked at those releases at Jon's they looked complicated to set up. I was using the Black's releases set as low as they would go, still towed fish around. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you mentioned rubber bands.
  9. Fished out of Oswego from Thurs - Sunday, fishing was kind of slow for us. We got four browns from 6 to 10lbs, all the rest were 12 inches long, we were constantly checking our lines to make sure we were not towing one of these fish around. I was docked at green dock and saw a deer swim behind my boat Sat afternoon, talk about taking a double take. We fished 10 to 80 FOW, Lures that took fish NBK, Gobi glow, Alewife spoons, challenger glow stick bait at night. Caught the biggest sucker in my life on Sunday, I was checking my oil tank and took another boats wake from the side, fell backwards on a smithwick, trip back to the dock with a stickbait hanging off the middle of my back. Hope next trip is better.
  10. My first experience with boating was on my dad's bass boat, the older I got the more we spent fishing / hunting together. After my dad passed away, my mom gave me the boat. I put the boat in storage because I couldn't look at it with remembering all the memories of fishing with my dad. The boat stayed in storage for about five years, I started taking my son fishing from shore and he started asking about the boat. I sold that boat because it wasn't a good boat for a young child to be on, and bought my present boat, 23 foot Proline. Boats Name - Memory Maker
  11. I will be up Sept 6,7,8,9 -- I am no expert by any means, but we do manage to do alright when were out. It seems to me the more info you can get out on the water can make the difference between a great day and getting skunked. I will be launching out of Oswego, but probably be up in that area at some point. Give me a call on the radio ch. 68 - Boats name Memory Maker (white and blue proline) or The Fat Bastards (Crew) or you can get a hold of me on my cell 484-239-3993
  12. Stoneyxc I would take the advise of the others above, I am experimenting with copper and I used a smaller reel than recommended and almost got spooled. I learned one big lesson with copper, when you get tangled with another line you have one h*ll of a mess. Left the wheel for a split second, boat turned and a 1/2 hour later the lines were back in the water.
  13. Fished out of Oswego Sat evening and Sunday morning. Went 2 for 3, very slow. Fished in 180 - 250 fow 50 to 80 feet down. Water was a little rough didn't want to go out deeper, boats that did seemed to do very good. Fish were caught on a white glow spin doctor and a hammer fly, with 400 of cooper, and green pro troll e-chip and green crinkle fly, 65 feet down. The kids all took turns on the cooper rod and there reaction when we finally net the fish made the trip worth it. Can't tell the feeling watching your 7 year old struggling to hold up a fish so you can take his picture.
  14. Ray, My son gets out of the truck with his vest on, dosen't take it off, even when it's not needed, until the boats back on the trailer . He will also tell anybody what they need to know about launching and retrieving boats. He a 7 year old expert (in his mind.)
  15. I will be taking my son on his first trip to the Big O. We will be on the lake next weekend. I hope the fishing picks up. He is 7 and talks about fishing more than me. He wants to catch a KING. Can't wait to see his face if we do hook into one. Any advise will appreciated. Fishing down riggers, dipsey's and copper.
