5 dead deer in one area seems a little suspicious. Have you contacted an Encon Officer assigned to that area? It may have been a bunch of punks shooting deer for fun at night with small caliber rifles. Encon may have suspects they are watching or even have arrested for the same crime near your location . Your phone call may result in assisting the investigation or additional charges if they already have them. At the very least they will keep an eye on the are in the future. Just bit the bullet and ordered the Auto Pilot and hydraulic steering from Hodges Marine. All said and done $1700 not bad for both. I was going to spend 2k total on the spx kit...glad I didn't
How much was just the hydraulic?

I requested this change X-Mas Eve and Rich had it approved this morning; amazing. Kudos to Rich and staff. Unfortunately about 10 minutes after Rich texted me the good news, my main partner for this event advised he had to cancel.
Regardless, I think the change is best. For those of you that know my son, ( will be 14 in May) you know he loves to compete, is relentless on the wheel and staying on fish. His heart was broken when I read the original rules. Hopefully things will change and we can make it.

Update: Tekota with Eagle Claw and Daiwa with Shimano Rod still again available: $250 for both. 3 Dipsey setups: one Tekota with 10 foot Eagle Claw rod, Daiwa with Shimano TDR rod, Okuma 30D with custom “ Fish Doctor Charters made” dipsey rod.
