  1. Good news! The marina is letting me keep the boat there as long as I want. I'm sure it's because they sell Key Wests and It's good advertisement there along the pier, but good for me!

So, gotta pick up some more killers, and I'll see you boys out there.

  2. The boat comes out tomorrow, so I gave it one more go today.

We fished the North West side for 3 hours. Ended up with 4 Rainbows and 1 big Smallmouth.

They seemed to be in the 50 to 70 fow range.

Wind was really whippin, and wave were rocking. Tough to keep a good speed, but we did good.

Again, the Kokanee Killer was the star of the spread.

Here's the purple/ blue one, but the silver works good too.

A purple Stinger took a fish on the slider.

  3. Have the boat at a slip for a few weeks, so gave it a go this morning.

Fished North West side, 8o to 150 fow. 2 riggers 40 and 60 ft down with sliders.

Took 1 small laker and 8 3 to 5 lb rainbows in 4 hours! All alone. Had a blast.

Mostly purple stingers, but the best was a blue and purple Kokanee Killer. I got em from Cabelas for use at Hemlock. Also the silver 1 took 2 fish. They were hammering them.

Got real windy, so I left at 11.

  4. I've gone down there many times. I prefer the Keys. Islamorada is a good place to start. I have learned to stay away from the big trolling boats. Most will take you for a "ride". Find a guy with a nice center console. No mate needed. Those guys can show you a fun time with sharks, cudas, tarpon, permit etc. You have to let them know what you want to do. It's all different.

Key west is the place in my opinion. From late April through summer the Tarpon are right in Key West Harbor. Very fishable, and very fun.

Plus, the town is a lot of fun.

I use 2 different guys that won't steer you wrong.

"Seize the Day" charters, and "Pepe Gonzales"

PM me if you need more.
