  1. Hello All, I need to update some of my Rods since it has been awhile and some need replaced. Does anyone have a certain brand they like running these days? Thanks for your help
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. Good luck on the water
  3. Wanted to know what a good reel and rod would be for running copper. Also, if you had 100 ft out would that put you around 50ft down? Thanks I figure you like this story. Was fishing the past weekend and had a salmon hit down 50 over 130 on the left rigger. Was using A-Tom-Mik fly rigged with the triple hook and single hook. Fish was on about 15 seconds. When I pulled the rig in, two of the three triple hooks were bent out strait as a needle. I had a hook bend before on the wire many times, but never two off the riggers. We ended up catching two 31 pounders and some two year olds. There are defiantly some big fish this year.
  4. Good info guys. I dont know, sometimes I would run them longer if I was fishing them higher in the water column. I will try them a little shorter to see what happens. Once again thanks
  5. Just wanted to know what works best for everyone. I usually run the fly 20ft of the cannon balls and it works good sometimes.
  6. Thanks for all the answers. The problem I am running into is that I have not marked anything on my fish finder for sometime now. I am just fishing tempture and was fishing down this weekend sometimes at 160 and catching fish. This was putting me into fish. I think I need some 220 sandpaper to clean the reading on the boat. Once again thanks for all your help
  7. Hey Everyone. Does anybody know if there is a formula for figuring out true down rigger depth at the ball? For an example: If you have 135 feet of cable out on a 12 pound ball and your speed is 2.2mph, where is your true depth at? Around 118? I did not know if there was a chart out there or a formula you could plug number in to figure out the answer.
  8. Thanks for all the messages. We used to fish the pro/am in the AM division. No time to find a observer, so we like the open division idea. You can drive in late the night before out of town and hit the water early. Just more convenient for people from out of town in my opinion. Once again, thanks to all FT
  9. How many boats on average have entered the Open Division this year? Has it been a good number? Where can I find their results? Thanks
