I was in Port Darlington 3 years ago and i had extraordinary result with a chinnok at 31 pounds but we did not know about the derby and were told by a local guy that we could have been in the weekly winner circle!!!!! I guess we Were just stupid freelancers!!!! lol lol Anyway i was told that Port Hope was also an excellent destination in terms of facility for fishermens... Is it as Fishermen's friendly as Port Darlington? I am asking also for a possible beach and camping near by and stuff like that so if the girlfriend wants to go ashore for a few hours there is something to do.. Let me know if this is the place? Port Darlington was nice but not much to do for the girls beside the fishing... If you have links for the different marinas and sites let me know.. Thanks Erick

Hello everyone, i am a newbie here and on fishing forums.... We are planning a fishing trip to the bowmanville area at the beginnig of august for salmon and we would like to have more info about the techniques,lures place to stay etc... We own our own boat and would be free lancers... We are experienced fishermans and are used to go after lake trout on champlain lake and landlock just around quebec... We do not know much about salmon from the great lakes and we want to go and try it.... So if you can help me i would appreciate it a lot... Thank's Erick Grandbois
