Will be visiting Canadaigua for the first time next week and would appreciate any clues that anyone can pass on. We'll have some young kids with us, and I'm wondering about fishing from the banks (we're on the west side about 2 miles south of town). Is it worth while to bring a 4 weight fly rod to fish from the banks? Also, we may do a charter one day. Would we be better off staying on Canandaigua or heading up to Lake Ontario? Any recommendations on charter boats/captains? Thanks in advance for any advice.
