  1. So I have been out the last several days in the Wellesley Isl, Eel Bay region and have completely struck out (well except for perch...) I've been all over Eel bay, mostly around the Gull islands and on the downstream side of Picton. I have had one line in the water with a minnow about 3 feet from the bottom all the time. In addition I have tried spoons (black/silver and silver), tube bait jigs, 'wacky' rigged worms, and deep diving crank baits. I've been targeting 15 to 45 feet of water, trying to focus on the areas where it drops off. In the shallower water, the minnows have produced perch after perch but nothing else, in the deeper water nothing. The cast and retrive stuff has been totaly blanked. I would REALLY like to find some bass or pike. If anyone has any hints or tips I would really appreciate it! Cabby
  2. Anyone else have any advice? I've been getting shut out in the Picton / Gridstone area.
  3. Thanks for the tips! I will try between picton and grindstone. SinDale - which shoals near grindstone are you speaking of? Near canoe point? (That island is HUGE.) To be honest the rift makes me nervous in a boat, it would be a lousy place for engine trouble. What do you guys think about live bait vs. spoons and stickbaits? Thanks for the help guys! Dave
  4. I am headed up to the Wellsley Is, Murry Is area this weekend and would like to do some pike fishing. When I am up there I usually fish top water for bass, but I would like to try something different. I really have never trolled before and am a little hesitant to try it. I will probably be in the boat alone, so I am not sure what is the best approach. Anyone have any hints, tips or locations for mid-august pike? Thanks! Dave
