  1. thanks ray!

i was going to make a trip down there just for some recreational fishing (as i am just a C/R boy), and to just have a day to myself to just relax. i didnt know catherine creek was so decimated.

as for the rooster tail, i knew about that reg (thanks for the reminder though), and prepped accordingly; i got myself some single hook rooster tails at bass pro shops.

have you been to the pier in watkins?

do you know of any other tributaries which might have some good trout fishing action at this time? id be grateful for any tips. im not looking for your personal hole or anything, just some pointers in the general direction. thanks!!

  2. 1. has anyone been there recently? how did you do?

    2. this will be my first time heading there, where is a good spot to park, and then walk?

    3. what are people using for lure? cutbait? live bait? rooster tails? spoons?

any info provided will be greatly appreciated, i intend to head down there the next few days and try for some. FIRST TIMER COMING THROUGH...i hope i can manage some beginners luck!!

  3. my parent grew up in watkins glenn, ny. apparently, the northern and southern ends are relatively shallow compared to other areas. the deepest parts of seneca from shore are on the east/west sides, midway. there are little cabins and houses along the sides which have docks, and they have seen people pull good sized lakers from them.

  4. i live in seneca falls, i dont own a boat...and im looking for a new fishing hole.

ill fish for anything there is...so dont hold back

    places ive tried:

    seneca falls - canal

    mays point - montezuma refuge

otisco lake - lake park, causeway

    cross lake - state ditch

i hope you all will post something on this topic, because im desperate for some new action. since i live in seneca falls, mostly i fish the canal...which means i only pull out REAL small SMB, and REAL big carp...i need some new action!

  5. i checked that spot out...turns out...it is a good spot to fish...but its also a cliff climb away...its about a 40-50 ft drop from the bridge...there are ropes hanging down from the cliff, you have to scale them to get to the water and fish from shore.

all the other spots in the area are on private property...since i arrived around 7AM...it was too early to go around knocking on peoples doors to see if i fish their docks...

  6. i found the same prob as in the article. there are a few spots on the east side...but all seemed to be on private property. however there is a small sport, otisco lake park, located in the northern portion of the lake, where you can fish from shore...i didnt bring anything in, but it seems like decent access at the right times of day/yr.
