  1. do you always fish on the river? me and a couple of friends pull out 15-20 lb-ers out of the canal system right at our local spot regularly. throw up some more pics!!
  2. snagger- where were they on cayuga? i dont own a boat, so im real interested in fishing browns and LL from shore. let me know thanks.
  3. I will be hitting up t-falls state park tomorrow. Any tips for hooking into some good sized trout?
  4. thanks RR!!! i appreciate any input for us landbound fisherman!! most of the info here is for guys with boats unfortunately!!
  5. do you guys know if you can pull any good sized trout out of the state park there? im landbound, and until i get a boat, thats the only good action i can get around here.
  6. how DID you do? did you get to fish off the pier at all?
  7. sean- did you see anyone fishing from the t-falls pier?
  8. wow you pulled 30 out?! whoa! i hear bullheads give a decent fight, similar to carp (what i pull out of the NYS canal system in seneca falls, ny). any truth to that rumor? do you know if there are cats in the canal system? ive always wanted to see if there were..
  9. is now a good time to fish the pier?
  10. has anyone ever fished the t-falls pier? what did you catch? what lure did you use?
  11. thanks ray! i was going to make a trip down there just for some recreational fishing (as i am just a C/R boy), and to just have a day to myself to just relax. i didnt know catherine creek was so decimated. as for the rooster tail, i knew about that reg (thanks for the reminder though), and prepped accordingly; i got myself some single hook rooster tails at bass pro shops. have you been to the pier in watkins? do you know of any other tributaries which might have some good trout fishing action at this time? id be grateful for any tips. im not looking for your personal hole or anything, just some pointers in the general direction. thanks!!
  12. 1. has anyone been there recently? how did you do? 2. this will be my first time heading there, where is a good spot to park, and then walk? 3. what are people using for lure? cutbait? live bait? rooster tails? spoons? any info provided will be greatly appreciated, i intend to head down there the next few days and try for some. FIRST TIMER COMING THROUGH...i hope i can manage some beginners luck!!
  13. my parent grew up in watkins glenn, ny. apparently, the northern and southern ends are relatively shallow compared to other areas. the deepest parts of seneca from shore are on the east/west sides, midway. there are little cabins and houses along the sides which have docks, and they have seen people pull good sized lakers from them.
  14. im looking for some decent trout fishing near seneca falls, within about 30 min drive. i dont have a boat...so it has to be stream fishing, or fishing from shore any locations well be greatly appreciated!!! thanks!!
  15. has anyone heard of it or fished it? it seems to be something under the radar. if you have any info, it would be greatly appreciated!
  16. i know lodis point is on the eastern side of seneca lake...but where is the creek? is it fishable from shore? if so, where abouts? thanks!
  17. does anyone fish there from the shore? if they do, could you please send me along the location? also what sorts of fish you go for there in the river. thanks!
  18. i live in seneca falls, i dont own a boat...and im looking for a new fishing hole. ill fish for anything there is...so dont hold back places ive tried: seneca falls - canal mays point - montezuma refuge otisco lake - lake park, causeway cross lake - state ditch i hope you all will post something on this topic, because im desperate for some new action. since i live in seneca falls, mostly i fish the canal...which means i only pull out REAL small SMB, and REAL big carp...i need some new action!
  19. how big o pan fish doozer? we talking edible perch...or like worthless bluegill?
  20. someone told me today that canandaigua lake has multiple piers/docks open to the public to fish off of. i was wondering if anyone had any experience fishing them, what their results were, and where specifically these spots are along the lake. thanks everyone!
  21. i checked that spot out...turns out...it is a good spot to fish...but its also a cliff climb away...its about a 40-50 ft drop from the bridge...there are ropes hanging down from the cliff, you have to scale them to get to the water and fish from shore. all the other spots in the area are on private property...since i arrived around 7AM...it was too early to go around knocking on peoples doors to see if i fish their docks...
  22. i found the same prob as in the article. there are a few spots on the east side...but all seemed to be on private property. however there is a small sport, otisco lake park, located in the northern portion of the lake, where you can fish from shore...i didnt bring anything in, but it seems like decent access at the right times of day/yr.
  23. what can you pull in off the causeway?
  24. any luck pulling anything from the causeway?
