  1. Are these still available? They will fit the burts and trax rail systems correct?
  2. Thanks for all your feedback guys. Yesterday I orderd the 15#ers. I wish I would have seen these other posts about the 20's. Im going to be fishing out of cape vincent ,grenadier is. I hope my 15's are enough weight for up there. Ill have to look into 20's for next yr.Anybody have any tips for fishing that area? Never been there. Thanks again, Mark.
  3. Thanks Brian, I have a cannon mag 5 it will handle up to 20#. Hilltown huh, were almost neighbors I think Im going to just run a pair of 15# sharks.
  4. Thanks Shade, much more than me for sure. Dont know what I was thinking I guess 20 does sound a little heavy. This is my first yr. Im sure I'll have more dumb questions. Thanks
  5. I wanted to know what weight you guys would recomend for deeper trolling this time of yr. I'm looking at purchasing the shark cannonballs . Would you go with 15 or 20# weights. Thanks, Mark.
  6. Hey Guys, what an awsome site this is, so much Info. here. I just started trolling this yr. I have a pretty good idea on what to do , Ive learned alot from a charter captain I've been fishing with for the last 9 yrs . Im pretty familliar with the Sodus /Pultneyville area but my girl and I are going up to Cape Vincent this yr . week of aug 15. could anybody give me some info on where to start. Were actually staying on Grenadier Is. I heard about he shipping chanel and Galoo. When thhey talk about the shipping chanel are they referring to the lake or the river ? Ill be running 2 riggers and 2 dipseys. Any info will be much apriciated. Thanks in advance Mark
  7. Thanks guys , Pretty funny . Ive been taking her out for bass and trout / salmon fishing and she really enjoys it. It was her suggestion to get something bigger so we decieded to get a bayliner cuddy. She wanted something we could crash on and she could lay out and tan. So without having a clue I had her rigged up w/ riggers and some rod holders . Now all I need is a clue on what to do out there.
  8. Hey guys, Thanks for the input. I didn't know okuma made trolling rods.Ill have to check them out .I have used the Diawa heartland b-4 on a charter I used to go out on but I couldn't remember if they were used for riggers or dipseys. I have also looked at the Shimano talora. I purchased 2 of these for rigging, nice flex in the rod but with some backbone at the butt section. This is all new to me shure is a lot to learn, but thats part of the fun. Guess I rather sound stupid here than look stupid on the water!!
  9. Took my girl out a few times and now she's hooked Domestic Rainbow Her first King
  10. Hey guys, I would like some input as to what type of rod to use for dipseys, action, length etc. Also the # test of line I should be using. I have 2 Tekota 500 LC reels would they be ok. Thanks in advance. Mark
  11. Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself to the board. My name is Mark and im from Quakertown Pa. Ive been a long time bass fisherman, fishing quite a few lakes in Ny. I reciently traded in the bass boat for a 19' cuddy. Ive fished the big O quite a few times with a guide out of Sodus Bay, so now im looking foreward to trying it on my own. I see there are quite a few members on this board from my neck of the woods. Hopefully I can get the oppertunity to meet a few of you and pas on some of your knowledge.Like I said ive been out quite a few times on a charter so I have somewhat of an idea but I know there is a lot to learn. Two yrs. ago I started taking my girlfriend out with my favorite charter captain and after the first time she was hooked. So now I have a bigger boat that we can do more types of fishing with. This is an awsome board from what I have read so far, looks like everybody is willing to share there knowledge expecialy with the newbies. My girl and I are hoping to make it up ther the last weekend in Sept. if her work schedule permits. Im familliar with the Sodus to the power plant area but are there any other areas to consider for this time of the yr. If any of you could recomend a launch , marina even a place to spend a night it would be apreciated. Thanks and tight lines Mark
