Thats awesome...sometimes it surprises me because you'd think it would use more. It's a 2.5 gallon tank and I rarely go thru more than 3/4's of a tank.

The boat handled it well. Three to five's will get you very wet but handles them. .

Glad to hear, It might be a bit much for my 14' rebel but I bet it would do 2 to 3's. I don't want to find out...but I guess you always have to keep it in the back of your mind.

Thanks for the info thats exactly what I was thinking whats to say you can't idle the kicker in gear and set the bow mount on auto pilot, the bow mount won't be pulling the weight of the boat just doing the steering essentially.

My buddies and I don't offer one another mostly because we trade up on trips. Although I use a lot more gas I don't really expect them to shell out any money. Last week I took a bunch of the same guys out and each one threw me $20. It was a nice gesture on their part but if they really knew how much I spent they would have had a stroke. Running 8 hours at 1 gallon/hr plus the 16 mile round trip run at 2 miles/gallon I blew through 16 gallons of gas and that didn't include trailering to the launch which was another 4 gallons of gas meaning a grad total of $80 to cover my costs. And I won't even talk about the oil burned...Hopefully that 8 gallons for trolling becomes 2 with my kicker.

Either way we had fun. Hopefully this weekend they return the favor seeing how I am housing them for the weekend.

no its a 9.9 mariner I go thru about 2 gallons wide open to where i'm gonna start trolling, troll for 6 or 7 hours and wide open back to the launch.... top speed at the moment is 6.8 mph but I'm thinkin thats gonna change after L&M gets done with it

I don't ask on my boat but it costs about $8.00 to troll for 8 hrs and I always offer if I go on someone elses no matter what the circumstances.

He actually wasn't a charter capt. but knew them all His name was Charlie Maggio. My first trip ever to lake ontario was aboard the "Mary-Anne" Charlie told me seeings how I had never fished lake ontario the first fish was mine...just so happens it was the largest fish I have ever caught 29lb King!!! Charlie was my high school biology teacher. I fished with him every weekend after that all summer. What a blast!! Some of the charter guys I remember were "Irish Thunder" and "Anacona" I think Irish Thunder may be fishing on the east end and I think Anacona is fishing out of Rochester, I might be wrong.
