  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Hawgcooker ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/4-6/7 Time on Water:trip or two each day Weather/Temp: 70's Wind Speed/Direction: east couple days, SW and W couple days Waves: 3 and lower mainly. Bigger on the weekend. Surface Temp: Location: Wilson and the Bar LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 15-20 Total Boated: 10 Species Breakdown: (1) lake trout, 9 Salmon (Kings and Coho's) Hot Lure: Glow frog Trolling Speed: 2.7 - 3.1 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 100 to 300 Lure Depth: 30 to 120 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Three of us fished Wilson Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Fished the Bar/Red can area on Monday. Boated a fish or three on each trip out. Wilson was by far a better fish than the bar. standard glow frog worked well, magnum tiger stripe and reg chilly whilly took fish. Flashers and flies did nothing. Ran lead core on boards with no much happening. Dypses and riggers both brought fish in for us. Needed to be 50ft or deeper or free sliders on a 110 foot ball. Followed the CG crew pulling in a sunken vessel to Wilson launch - plug "fell" out down by Olcott. Nice trip for us, nice area. Thanks to posters and administrators on this site. The tips and info always help us Michiganders when we make the drive to NY. Good luck to everyone and I hope your plugs stay in while on Lake O!!
  2. Thanks for all the responses..........I expected more from this site and the users/administrators. In an effort to help others that may read this thread. Closest good takle shop is in Olcott. Others have closed (A-1 and Wilson.) Niagara Outdoors has limited quantity of the basics and a very helpful owner. Wilson launch is the quickest way to the fish - at least this weekend. Fort Niagara is a decent launch for a smaller boat. Big boats can put in but not much room to get around and hilly access roads to the launches. I wish everyone luck that gets out in the lake and uses this site. Weather was tough on us - we manged to catch fish everytime out - one 19 lber.
  3. Two friends and I will be fishing out of Fort Niagara or Wilson this weekend. I have been watching this site and checking the archives for a couple weeks now - getting reel excited looking at all the pics. 1) Can I get advise of whether we should launch out of Wilson or the Fort launch? why is one better? 2) A suggested tackle shop or two in each area? Thanks for keeping up this excellent site.
