  1. Someone caught a 27.66 that make this week's leaderboard yesterday out of bluffers thats a first in around two weeks I think.
  2. Went out tonight for an hour and a half after work out of Bluffers park.. water that was 71 degrees on Monday was 56 - 58 degrees tonight. No fish marked, no fish taken, no hits. Anyone had any luck out there today/tonight?
  3. Make sure when you are letting line out that you keep tension or else the dipsey will spin on the way down. Maybe just dial down the drag and let line out instead of releasing the bail. WHen I first started using the dipsey I ran into the same problem and the above stopped that problen. Good luck!
  4. If you're fishing the Toronto Salmon Derby, post your results here!. I'll start. We were out today around Ashbridges area and did ok. We went 3 for 5 with one fish 27.76#, biggest of the summer so far! We caught another Chinook 18# and one around 3 months old I think. Water was pretty calm in the morning, and by the time we left around 11:30 it was starting to get a bit rougher. Surface temp was 65, didnt bother taking deeper temp. Here are a few picks from today, enjoy! First fish, bait almost, Green/Green Evil Eye. Second fish, 27.76# king. 140 FOW, 2.7MPG, 225 ish out on the dipsy (chartreuse/white rign), with Green / Silver spin dr and blue/green/silver atomik fly. Third fish, 18#, same details as second fish: Lost two more big ones, first just unhooked itself, the second snapped my leader between the dipsey and the spinner and lost my $26 rig..*$#
  5. Thanks very much! I was on the company's website and they say to use 18 feet from ball to flasher and 42" from flasher...ever use that much line between flasher and cannon ball?
  6. Possibly a stupid question, but I just bought a hot spot flasher and want to know which end to tie the leader to my bait and which end to tie to my main line?...the website wasnt very helpful. The flasher is narrower at one end than the other so is the proper riggingt: A) Narrow end to main line and wider end to lure or B) Wider end to main line and narrow end to lure Thanks!!!

  8. Thanks For clarifying. Bluffers today, a bit rough for my 16 ft boat...but: Camera's a bit screwed up, but you get the picture! 63 feet down, over 160 ft. On a yellow/green magnum Evil Eye....which I lost today, fish destroyed it.
  9. To clarify, I'm fishing in the Greater Toronto area and I'm referencing the Ontario MNR regs.
  10. Just read the 09 regs, and want to make sure I understand properly. Its two rods per person on Lake O correct?
  11. Caught my first Kings of the year today! I went out yesterday out of Ashbridges, went 0 / 1 but lost the fish. It faught like a king, but not sure. Around 6 this morning I went out of bluffers park, water was like glass...there's not a lot better than heading out on a morning like that!! Saw steelhead rolling on baitfish on the surface, but didnt manage to hook into one all day. Started out on 60 FOW and made it out to 120 and caught my first King of the year 15'ish pounds down 99 feet on the ball going 2.7'ish mph. Black/green/silver NK mag on silver back. Next fish, a shaker Chinook on an old-school chartreuse/green Evil-eye, down 58 ft over 150. Made it out to 175 and hooked into my third King of the day, around 15 pounds, and a great fight. caught him on the same evil eye, down 58 ft. Water temps today were between 63 and 65. I headed in when it started to rain, didnt want to ruin a perfect morning!!! Tightlines everyone, the kings are here!
  12. Thank you for the updates! Cant wait for this weekend. I'm going out of Ashbridges Saturday AM and Bluffers Sunday AM. How many feet out are you running your dipsy?
  13. Thanks for the reply. I was out of the Bluffs on Sunday afternoon between 90 and 150 ft. I caught one rainbow flatlining in 90 fow. Question, when the ball is down 30 to 60 ft, with NK's how much line off the ball are you running?
