I've been fishing Sodus Bay all week, the best results have been big spinnerbaits around the weeds. I haven't been having much luck with anything else.

Had good luck with the perch and largemouth using Smithwick Rattling Rogues last night and today. Not bad for our first time at this lake. Haven't tried out of the boat yet. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Check out the Limp Bait on some of the other Great Lakes forums. It is an impressive 14' Starcraft that is fished on Lake Michigan.

I bring my little 14.5 foot fishing machine up to Sodus each year for a family vacation. I couldn't mount a fixed VHF on it so I bought the Atlantis 250. It receives NOAA weather, Coast Guard and most other channels pretty well, but I stay VERY close to land!

I vacation on Leroy Island in August and usually launch at the Leroy Island Marina or at Fowlers Marina rather than driving over to the other side of the bay. I have fair luck bass fishing around the islands, but haven't caught any pike yet.

Unfortunatley I only make it up to the Big O once a year for the annual family vacation. It is surprising how many guys from SE PA are on this site.

Great report. I agree, wish it were closer, I spend most of my free weekends fishing the Nock.....

It's nasty out there, lots of boomin' and bangin'. Tomorrow doesn't look much better.

Thanks for the reports. I am heading up to Sodus tomorrow, I was hoping they'd be a little closer since my boat is a little small to be headed out deep. If all else fails bass and pike in the bay!
