  2. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:With NorthFork Charters ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/2, 8/3 Time on Water:6:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Weather/Temp:Sunny, Hot Wind Speed/Direction:S.W. Waves:< 1 ft Surface Temp: Location:9-11 miles N of Olcott LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): 29, 30, 31 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: (2 days) 35 + Total Boated:23 Species Breakdown:3 mature kings, 2 juveniles, 19 steelhead, a few shakers thrown back Hot Lure: gator spoon, coyote Trolling Speed: 2.6 Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: 40-50 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Had a great 2 day charter with captain Harry Zimmerman from NorthFork Charters. Monday, limited out. Tuesday we had to work for them. Lots of bait pods, but fish were sluggish to bite on Tuesday. Kings were 21, 22 and 25 pounds. Most of the steelies were 7-10 pounds. Weather was beautiful, but it was obvious that lake must have turned over Monday. There was cold water in close, but it warmed up once we got out. I will try to post some pics later today.
  3. That's the same question I've been asking myself since they returned to Cleveland in 1999. The real Browns are in Baltimore now.... they're called the Ravens! As far as the fish called "browns", they'll be coming up the creeks very soon to feast on the salmon eggs. Anytime now, we all hope! I have a buddy that fished Burt last Sunday, and he said he saw very few browns caught, but there were enough salmon to keep things interesting. I'll be up Sunday thru Tuesday to check it out myself, wearing my traditional Browns tossel cap, hoping that the swimming variety of Browns have arrived. Remember - no skein, no gain! Tight lines to all!
  4. Fishing Report Salmonbreath Bob/ Boat Name:Northfork Charters ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/13 Time on Water:6 A.M. to 1:30 PM Weather/Temp:Sunny, 84 degrees Wind Speed/Direction:0 Waves: calm Surface Temp: 70 Location:8-10 miles north of Olcott LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 22 Total Boated:16, 4 throwbacks, 6 lost Species Breakdown:2 kings, 2 cohos, 8 steelhead Hot Lure: Miami Dolphin, assorted dreamweaver spoons Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.5-2.7 Boat Depth: Lure Depth: 30' - 50' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== We drove up from Pittsburgh and went out with Captain Harry Zimmerman and mate "Oakie" from Northfork Charters out of Olcott today. As usual, he did a great job of finding scattered fish all over the place. All four of our guys limited out, but we had to work for them. Best fish was a 24# king, and several steelies in the 8-10#class. Cohos were small, but healthy looking. Early fish came mostly off planer boards, then the dipsy divers did well for awhile. As the sun came up and got higher in the sky, the downriggers did well between 45 and 50 feet, where the water temp was 46-48 degrees. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day on the lake. Captain Harry, thanks for another unforgettable experience! I'll be back up in mid-October for the run on 18 Mile Creek - can't wait!
