    Went out of Sandy just as the storm was passing to the north. Passed Silver Fox in the channel. Went straight out NW to 220, had good marks on the Humminbird so we set lines and immediately got busy. 6 hits in 2.5 hrs. Hot lures were the NK purple with white ladder back and the green NK I think they call Monkey Pukle. The skipper was not clipped. Good to see there's some natural beeding going on.

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

    ====================

    At last ! Been a long dry spell for the JA II. 0 for 7 fishing west of Sandy. This AM I decided to go east. We headed out of Sandy on a N/NE course toward the tight contour just north of Wautoma shoals. Didn't find anything there so we continued north and the humminbird came alive at 190 to 200 fow with most marks between 100 and 160 down. Sent my pro troll rigger down to 155 and found 52-55 degrees. Set my second rigger to 145 with stackers 20ft above the ball. after a couple of non productive releases and a little adjustment of the release tension we had a good strike on a fly at 135 down, boated a 8-9 lb Steely. Short time later while resetting the starboard rigger we had a strike at just 20ft while I was trying to set the stacker. That was the second steely, a fiesty 5-6 pounder. We ended the day in 235 fow picking up a juvenile king about 10 lbs and a skipper king 12-14 inches. About 4 hours of active fishing was really fun at last.

  4. Same thing happened to me. Took a buddy out fishing. All morning, nothing ! Around 11 am he pulls a ba@#$& out his bag. I tell him about his no no and he scarfs it down we feed the peel to the fishing gods and 1/2 hour later hook up with a nice teener king. The rest of the day went well after that. Hey, you call it superstition but we're fisherman and fishing is relies on a large percentage of LUCK so why test it ?
