Thanks guys for the plethora of encouragement and tips.I am heading out tomorrow morning, running out of Wilson going west.
-
TyeeTanic i was crusing at 1.5 to 2,then at times 2.8,I think i had it running right ,but i noticed as hard knox mentioned was the water color. i was in very clear water.
-
hard knox ,thanks for the info ,it is much appreciated. i usually go out Olcott or Wilson. When i went out there was clear water and i think i was out to far.The colored water you explained ,makes sense because i did go through a spot with murky water and the pole started getting hits .i just picked up 17 lbs floro . and im give heck again this weekend. Defiantly, appreciate the info man!

Hey there everyone,
Im working on the trolling tactics ,this time of year .I have basic trolling experience.
i gave it a try a week ago out of wilson and ran 3 poles ,2 planner boards and one straight,i ran sticks not sure what i did wrong. 3 hours and only a couple of hits ,no hook ups.
Any tips will be much appreciated.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS well i fished all september and most of the days in october.has anyone seem my fish its 45 lbs with pink yarn running last seen burt dam. anyway is there alot of fish producing in the olcott area??
====================
-
Congrats Redman on your light line triumphs.......next you should head up to the dam and try your #8lb rig under the dam. When you hook up, make sure you announce to everyone you are using 8Lb line. You should get a warm reception .
it would be awsome to use 8 lbs up there but with all the maniacs that are standing in the middle out the water also if you dont catch (Snag) a fish in there i think theres a problem. But the dam is a great place for beginners.
-
there is still alot of fish out there they and you might have to get little cold when they are here.
-
salmon still slow alot of bulls out there and the females are all pimped out so fishing is still just ok.
-
Green on green 3/4 oz glow cleo with 12 lb line. Line size does not matter at night and you will snap off 3/4 oz cleos with 8lb or even 10lb when casting.
just fyi i use a 10 lbs and i have not snaped at casting its all in the knot also pole size helps i brought in a 27 pounder two sundays ago and was successful
