  1. What would be a good downrigger to use with a depth raider? I fish Erie (Walut Creek to Ohio line) mostly so my depths would be primarily in the 50 - 70' range. I also fish alone a lot so I'm thinking that an electric would be helpful. I'm planning to use the Depth Raider primaily for speed control because I don't feel my Garmin GPS is what I need. Any advise greatly appreciated.
  2. I have a 20 ft. Thompson Carrara with a 200 hp Merc I/O. Anyone have any idea what it will weigh? I've searched the web but can't find anything. Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. Austin, I'm sure that I will really like the soft top. But, as for best investiment, the soft top will have to fight with the Simrad AP14 autopilot that I installed last summer!!!! I walleye fish Erie alone a lot and the autopilot solved 99% of my boat control frustrations.
  4. Thanks for posting the pictures of your boat with the soft top. I'm going to show them to my canvas guy and ask him to duplicate it on my 20' Thompson. Would you change anything about it?
  5. I want to get a good fishing enclosure for my 20' Thompson cuddy for spring and fall fishing on Erie. Would also like the option to extend the top to the stern for camping. Appreciate any pictures, plans or thoughts from those that might have done this.
  6. I'm going to look at a 10 year old outboard that I'm thinking of using as a kicker on my 20' Thompson. It's a long shaft with manual start and was used on a small fishing boat. I would appreciate any guidance on what to look for or look out for. Seller wants $800.
  7. My AP will be here Monday. I'm installing it on a 20' stern drive Thompson. I'm wondering now how much electrical draw this AP has. I plan to use it primarily when walleye trolling on Lake Erie. Should I consider a backup battery or ???. Thanks for any suggestions.
