My buddy and a friend of his went to a finger lake yesterday... he would take me today, but I don't feel like getting soaked. It's been a long deer season, and I just want to hang by the wood stove instead. If it's not bad next Sunday hell take me. For today it's helping him fillet, and doing some indoor farm chores.

  2. 1.Got some cutting to do to open up some shooting lanes.

2.Gonna leave my 2 trail cams out to focus on deer trails and get a better idea of survivors.

    3. Plant some food that will carry over the winter. I'm 39 yo, and in my hunting have never seen an impact on deer herds like last winter. We saw them in 3 feet of snow, but by spring we didn't see many. Gotta grow high protein root crops to help.....

  3. Put the muzzy down around 9 and went in my friends farm for coffee and get the bird shot to walk the hedgerows. We saw 3, I shot at 2 and got one. We took turns dogging the thick stuff. After sitting in a deer stand for 2 months it was a workout walking through brambles and low branches for a 100 or so yards. Each year I been telling my friend I'm gonna get him a beagle, today I told him I'm getting the first free dog I find on Craigslist and we'll teach it the smell of rabbits!! Oh well today was my last morning, and I still ended it with a bang. Got my share of venison for the year though it was alot of hours and few sightings. Thanks legacy and all who've contributed. 4. Just curious, is it legal to keep the rack? Pretty sure in PA, the Game Comm will take it from you. You could pick up road kills, but had to turn the rack in. That was years ago, don't know if things changed or not.

Just curious about PA. Can you inherit buck skulls that don't have tags? Or does the game commission take them?

  5. We haven't done anything with our property in the last 3 seasons, since my father in law passed. We've just bush hogged each fall to clear the land...my wife's cousin and I talked were gonna do a couple acres of corn and an acre of turnips to hold over for winter feed. I've learned a lot from this thread this season, and I'm glad I could see alot of nice bucks on here. For years I used LOU as a fishing site, this year I clicked on the hunting forum to see what's up, glad I did. ... enjoy the rest of the season to those packing a load till the 22nd!

Opening day I saw 3 deer cutting through my neighbors property.... my wife's cousin seen them together, and I kept saying one of these does is gonna screw up!! At least it was the button buck. He was coming through the field edge, and his mom and sis were in the swamp, and ran when I shot him. 100 yard .223 1 shot lung, one shot liver died 30 yards, feet from entering swamp....I won't kill the other 2, hopefully their pregnant.

Sitting in Port Byron, not much shooting but he says people hunt all around and kick deer. He's got 20 and 40 yards flagged for bow hunting... not able to hit 50 yards anywhere around.... just waiting for the Guage to bark!!
