Im confused. You are talking about running a second rod off of one rigger or are you talking about running a cheater? If you are running cheaters/sliders you can let them free slide or you can half hitch it to your fishing line at your desired depth with a rubber band. As far as stacking a second rod goes. You can do it a bunch of ways they make double releases that attach right at the ball, they also make easy to attach releases like roemers for putting a second rod at a spaced distance but with a spaced out stack you gotta stop your riggers to get your release on the way up.

Awesome read. You mentioned your wire line being down to 4-500' the further below 1000' you go the less accurate your line counter becomes.

Im for next day weigh ins as well. Some of our bigger kings come to late to get to a weigh station and our primary weigh station at sodus has less than favorable hours for weighing fish in the evening. 3 years ago one of my good friends and a religious loc fisherman caught a 39 pounder and when he tried to weigh in the station was closed.

Yea I even stayed away from the area I wanted to fish because of boat traffic and being solo.

Headed through the chute at 5:15 saturday on a solo mission. Goal was 3 kings for the smokehouse and get back in to head back to pa early. Setup in 120fow with a green dolphin siggs and white/green dot spinny on a 270 dipsey, a glow twinkie and 11" crystal prism big shotter back 300', and a black on black nk28 with glow ladder on both sides down 100'
First to go was the 300' meat rig that yielded a 12lb king. After about 10 mins I pulled the flasher fly to put meat on it. While I wasmaking my change the 300 started screaming again. Now im hooked up and I have stuff laying everywhere. I got the fish controlled and put the rod back in the holder so I could have room to operate by myself. I got that fish in and boxed (16-18lb) and got set back up with 2 meat rigs now. The 270 meat takes the next shot and I drop the fish. Reset and thr 100' rigger gets hit with a solid 10lb brown. I released that fish and simultaneously both wires fire. Was able to land one of the two but dropped the other.
Made it back in the chute by 8am with a limit of kings and a released brown. I believe if we woulda had full crew/spread it woulda been crazy. I was 4-8 solo which isn't too bad I guess. 7 hits on meat and 1 on spoon.

When there are salmon around meat is the absolute one thing I ALWAYS put out.

Change those leaders! Good job out there. I like to think I have some influence on the running of the meat.

Glad to see ya hit some kings nick. Send em east.

if you dont have exactly 1000' of wire on certain reels those line counters will be way way way off! diawa 47lc for example.

Was beautiful out there this evening but still slow. Did manage a decent major. That 100-130 is gonna be hot when those fish go on the feed. The bottom was absolutely loaded with fish this evening.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
Well, it was quite a grind out there this morning. But we managed to scratch a few and tie for 2nd place in the salmon division with team fast and silver. Bites and marks were all over 50-100 down over 100-280fow. Turn out was great great and kudos to Nick and Theresa (ruff rider) for all their hard work and effort putting on this great event!

I have a lowrance hds7 and there are a few smudges on the monitor. I tried using some of those towels for lcd screens but it seemed to make it worse. Any tips?
