  1. Thanks Stinger. We always wear them, warm or cold. I invested quite a few bucks into comfortable vests for my kids, so that they dont mind wearing them (and myself, too)..... I hear the fish dont even mind if you are wearing them...lol
  2. I had totally forgotten about Hemlock .... havent been there in years....
  3. Larry, thanks for the comprehensive overview....I havent done this for about 15 year... since my grandfather died....Hope my son enjoys this as much as I did when I was his age. Thanks for helping get my line wet again
  4. Well, The boat will be all ready to put in after this weekend. I plan on putting in at T-falls using a seth green rig. I wanted to run some top lines, but have never tried it before. Does anyone have any basic tips for running a few top lines off the back of the boat? I was planning on running rapala's, stick baits or swedish piimples. I know it will be trial and error, but does anyone have any suggestions on depth or a decent set up that will help me down the right path.....
  5. I will give that a shot. I did take a drive up to T-falls the other day. I forgot what a nice little park that is... I will keep my eyes open and ears to the water
  6. Just an Add on to my post.... Guys, I understand that smelting is somthing that was passed down to you from your father from his father, from his father.... all the way to Methusala....it is a sport cloaked in secrecy and information about the run is passed with the slight nod of a head or an imperceptable wink, to let your buddy know that the honey hole will be full of fish on the firday after next.... But I just want to take my kid out and let him experience what I did when I was 12 with my dad. I know the sport has changed. I heard that they dont run in keuka and seneca anymore, and I figured that Cayuga was my next best bet.... Help me out
  7. I haven't smelted in years, but my son is getting old enough that I want to take him. any tips on locations in the Ithaca area, and when they will be running?
