Thanks for the laughs this mornin guys

Thanks, I will probably give the rapala LC's a try. I picked up a pair of Penn 320 gt's last year and didn't get the LC versions because I figured it would just be one more thing to break on me. I would like to get one more trolling reel this year, so I may give in and get one with a built in counter.

Took the day off yesterday 6/14 and snuck out to Conesus for a few hours. Got a couple bass on a "muskie inhaler" bucktail, and lost a slob pike boatside that hit a mepps giant killer just north of the launch. Spent most of the time trolling...but nada.
Are you guys using line counters on your trolling reels? Can anyone recommend a decent add-on line counter that is not a piece of junk?

Wow, you got some skills old man!! Very cool! Yeah, I don't think "Mrs. Esox" would go for that on the shed

Picked up two of the jointed ones for now, phantom and $9 bass. They do look well made...can't wait to get em wet.
-
Way to go! ...and thanks for the report. Prob won't be able to hit Conesus again for a few weeks, but I am determined to get a tiger out of there this year.

Those musky rockets look very nice...just ordered a couple myself. Thanks for the link

Wow, those are beautiful!

Just came back from Black Lake last night. Fishing was slow although some decent pike were caught as well as bass... no we were not targeting bass, I know they are out of season . I was up with a few non-fisherman and managed to get them into some pike as well which was cool.
Overall the fishing was pretty slow, but man that lake is beautiful. I can't wait to go back...

very nice fish indeed! Joe/Ellis, don't hold your breath for more info...no details, closely cropped pics, none showing the shoreline can be enlarged... coincidence...I think not
pretty clear that Holy is for a reason
I figured as much...but never hurts to ask

Nice...Thanks for the report. Headed up Saturday hoping for some pike and cats...

OK... let's be friends.
Seriously.... that pike is enormous. And that tiger.....
Beautiful fish...congrats
You mind telling me what you were throwin?

Ahhh the fulton chain... spent 3 days fishing those lakes in september and only managed a few pike...very slow. Of course about an hour before we left for home I was ripping a daredevil spoon over a sandy flat and had a massive tiger follow my bait right to the boat and turn away at the last second. I still see that one in my dreams... It's funny though that fish gets bigger every time I think about it. I swear it must have been 5 foot.......between the eyes!

Very nice! I have no doubts they are in there...I will just have to keep at it.
Old man- no dice @ Durant huh? I have been meaning to get up there and was planning to go sometime this summer. I here the campground is nice at least...

Ha! That's funny....I came across the same sunny. I think I read somewhere that DEC began stocking tigers in Conesus in '91 so there could definitely be some big ones around. I did see some huge marks on the FF last night, down about 10-15ft over 35-40 FOW.

Zach- I was fishing that same area at the north end last night around the same time. Lots of bait and panfish surfacing all over the place...tried everything... I was the guy paddling around in a tan kayak. Decided to leave the boat at home and get some exercise since i was goin solo. I have seen some beefy pike come outta there but every tiger I have seen (only a few) has been fairly small.

I was out there this evening from 5-9pm...SKUNKED. Was also out there Sat and same deal...except my buddy landed a small pike. Glad to here it ain't just me....

Thanks for the info guys

I'm headin up to Black Lake for the first time over Memorial Day weekend...will be curious to see how you make out. I hear there are good #s of pike in there as well as a few rogue muskies

Thanks...just found their website. That place looks like it may work out better...

Heading to Cross Lake in a few weeks and I'm looking for suggestions on a good place to throw up a few tents and camp for the night. So far all I have come up with is Cross Lake Park Campgrounds...anyone have any experience with this place? Looks like they have a boat launch on site which is a plus...
Any other suggestions?
