I picked up a big cat in the trench years ago first thing in the morning 10 or 15 pounds. Enough to lose my place on the rods with the other guys.

Man you need to take a chill pill, I see how you got your title, things will come together soon, just relax a bit, the lake is by no means overfished, If you want to see overfished go to western Lake Erie, and every year it's just as good as the year before I never seen anything like it!!
There is no emotion attached to it Pap, it is what it is.

my point was give the charter captains the business while getting the education. Most of them put the time into the pen projects that enable the fishery.

I would think Oswego or Sodus is a better fit for greenhorns. Fair Haven is a littie wide open and raw.

I bought one used in 2011 and had a wire on wrong resulting in the board getting fried. I called them and if my memory serves me right they had me send the entire unit back and they rebuilt it. I think they charged me a few hundred, I guess i got lucky. I do have the complete service manual in electronic form if you would like it I can email it to you. Adam

Does anyone use Wright-Mcgill rods? If so what would be the best for a dipsey rod? I have an offer for $50 off thier rods.

I was debating heading up to Watkins in the morning, I have not seen any recent posts.
I know last year after June 1 the fishing slowed way down and it seemed as if the only people catching anything were still fishing sawbellies. Any recent news of trolling sucessfully would help.

There is always a next time Ray. One bad motel will never deter us from the lake, there are planty of places to stay in Watkins. Sampson is 20 minutes further for us coming from the South.

The wife and I spent two days fishing out of Clute park, We did fairly well a few lakers and an assortment of LL's. We released all but one for dinner tomorrow. Slept @ Villager motel, it was terrible! Water coming in under the door and a mattress that should have been burned long ago. Usually I sleep in the boat but the wife wanted to stay on a motel.... She was sorry...

New boat decision
in This Old Boat
Posted
I have been doing some boat shopping on the jersey shore for a place I have on the water, I want something I can go off shore with and troll for the big boys. Some of the boats I have been looking at are Sea born 23' with a 250 Suzuki this is an open center console WA for $49,000. A sea fox 23' WA with a cuddy and a 200 Yama for $55,000 or a 2006 Grady 232 Gulf Stream with twin 150 Yama's and electronics with a windlass anchor for $46,000 the new boats would need bottom paint @ $32 a foot and electronic packages for around $1,600. Anyone have some insight they would like to share?
