Should we be heading out deep or trying in close since the cold water is looking like it is still in close?
  2. Thanks for the details.. We do not have a working probe right now but so its going kind of blind there. I will take your advice on the run out to 400 if the winds are still up in the AM. We will be on channel 68 "morning wood"
  3. Thanks! We got in today, hung out with Wes and got schooled then hit the water around 4pm until 730.. The winds started to pick up pretty hard but the lake wasnt too bad. We only went 60'-120' and ran the program from the bottom looking for kings at the bottom and then up to around 45'. We had one pull back and landed a small shinook but released. Heading out in the AM before dawn and spending the day on the water. Going to try in close again then head deeper as morning comes up. Thanks!

This will be our first trip fishing anything besides Erie, we are set up for Steelies here with two downriggers and plenty of rods. I have been reading reports and tips for fishing Kings which is our target. This is my first season using downriggers so still have not set up dodgers / flashers but plan to once we get to the tackle shop in Olcott. So Im looking for any tips on going for Kings, looking at weather im seeing some 10-20 out of the SW for teh next few days, how will this effect the fishing? My rods are currently rigged with braided but Im reading that people are using wire for their dipsy rods, is this how I want to reset and how many feet is good to have on here? Fleas.. something I will be new too, do they jam up rigger wire? Is there a better line/ wire to use to make it easier to clean the lines? Any other help would be greatly appreciated!
