  1. As a LOU member, how do I post and read reports on the Professional Forum? Does it cost money, etc. ? Thank you. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  2. Everyone should want to be a better boater and a safe boater too. The USCG safety course is required in the state of New Jersey and will be required here in New York very soon. I am certain we have all seen enough bad boating experience on our waters to want have everyone comply with a safety course. People will NOT be grandfathered into the rule either. Boaters should now how to navigate certain situations involving "right of way", marine radio operations, how to read chanel markers, safety and safety equipment regulations, etc. The days of boating while drinking beer and operating a vessel are over. Boaters safety course requirements and next insurance will be the state law. For the 85% of us boaters and charter captains, this has been a long time coming and a great new law. Safe boating to all.
  3. OK Bait Boys, Here is my elitist report for today from your US Coast Guard Certified Captain Scott. I hope it doesn't spoil your bait. Webster NY area beaches are hosting some fish. Mostly Brown Trout and Steelhead. One Salmon spotted at Bear Creek. Pultneyville had a few Steelhead this past week as well. Mostly Cleos in various colors. The obvious is the water is still warm and the creeks are low yet. Plenty of small baits around rocks and jetty piers. Every day gets alittle better. Most reports are coming from the Genessee River area and Salmon River (Pulaski NY) were I grew up. Just remember; while you are at work,.... I am fishing every day. Practice catch and release or you can eat PCB's and Mercury until you grow fins and a third eye. Really.
  4. Boy, Tough crowd. My first post ever. Mr. "Salmonite" is correct. My report reflects fishing with a fly rod from both pier and beach in the Webster , NY area. I am a certified US Coast "Captain" with over 20 years on the Ocean waters. I am also an Orvis Endorsed Fising Guide. If you commented in a negative maner about my first post, try to be less an ass on your next comments about my post. Chances are you think you are a "fisherman" or a "captain" or something, but your not much of anything. Your probably a worm chucking, spoon draggin, bait boy. Not much sport or skill in draggin spoons on a lake. Try it 80 miles out on the ocean, overnight, trolling for Big Eye Tuna. Getover yourself, its Lake Ontario guys. It;s fishing.
