  1. I went out on Friday in my 21 footer and right under the bridge is terrible. We had a good day with about 30 fish. Mostly salmon with a couple 6 pounders a couple decent browns and 1 laker about 18" The fish definitely preferred the snap weights of the boards. Riggers took some fish too 20' down

  2. Rich and I went 8 for 10, nothing over five pounds.. My GPS decided to not work for some reason so I had no idea of our speed and it gets tough in that rougher water. Had to constantly check the lures next to the boat to see if they were running decent lol. Nice job though! I should have been out earlier. The report didnt look good but I didnt see one chunk of ice in the lake or even close to the launch.

  3. Just wondering if anyone fishes Kueka Lake this time of year and if the state park launch is kept open. I was thinking about pulling the boat over there this weekend if the wind isnt right for Ontario. Is it usually good trout fishing this time of year? Watkins is pretty slow, South end of Cayuga is sort of hit and miss and I'd like to switch it up for a day. I always see browns jumping near shore in the Fall season when we are taking the buoys out for the winter.

  4. Wanted to make it up to Sodus and after hearing Yankee Trollers report I finally made it up there.. Couldnt have asked for a nicer day. Went out of the chute and set right up trolling west. Found the darker water and started hammering Browns! All sticks with a purple and blue Challenger being the best lure. Went 30 for 34 all Brown Trout. Biggest one weighed in at 11.1 lbs. It was non stop action in the shallow water. Seemed like as soon as we hit 10 ft. we would hook up on a double. Biggest fish was caught right at 20' on the swing out so we trolled the deeper water for awhile with not much luck. Seemed like Spring time out there!

  5. I took my course through mariners learning system online.. Its probably a little tougher than the classroom but you can study the material whenever you want and have a year to take the test. If youre uncomfortable with some of the material you can just study it until you feel you know it. I got a 100 in all four sections and they dont just teach you how to pass the test. They will send you text books with practice tests after each section and if you can pass them you wont have a problem when it comes time to take the real thing.

  6. Launched out of Treman both days. Found some great fish Sat. up the East side. Some Lakers and good Salmon with a couple browns mixed in. Started hitting them good as soon as we found the gravel bottom. Ran boards right up on shore with Orange and Firetiger sticks working the best. Purple stinger weighted with a smaller snap weight took a couple nice fish as well. Harder fishing Sunday with only a couple decent browns directly in the mud. Fish in the cleaner water seem to have moved. As soon as we got into about ten foot the lures started firing and we had 3 big Northers on at the same time! All on Rattling Rogues. With three lures all messed up and one snapped leader we decided it was time to get out of there anyways.
