  1. Txs Les. Yup, started reading online about passport and calling customs ahead of time. Wish it was just a boat ride to say, hey, I did it, ride was cool. Oh well, I'll figure it out and get my ride in on a calm day one way or another :)

  2. Looking to take a ride across the lake out of Rochester to canada. Anyone have a suggestion of a close town across from rochester where i could dock, get lunch and come home? I heard colburg but it looks a little far if i wanted to go directly across.

  3. Got started at little late thurs, about 7 am til noon on a solo run

Worked 160 to 250 out the genny to bradocks.

    Most action 180-90. 70 to 90 down. Around 43 to 49 degrees

Nothing on flies. Top lures chickenwing, ssw, wonderbread.

Went 5 for 11, all salmon but no majors, all little skippers.

Quite a few release and then nobody was home? Hmmm... Not enough or too much tension on releases? Never had more than one or two misses like this but 4 in total? One was a loss due to crossing lines.

Thanks to Its A Fishal, your report headed me in the right direction.

  4. Here above is a great example of what makes this website different than most and a wonderful resource. Unlike some places the charter guys and avid sport fishermen alike are willing to share with others to make the sport better. It sure is an improvement on the "old days" where little if any info was shared among fishermen and about the best that you could hope for was closely observing an "old timer" without them realizing it

i agree. Great example of how outstanding this forum is. This forum taught me 90% of what i know thanks to the big dogs helping others out.

  5. I suggest starting with smaller amounts of copper, say 200. It's temperamental to let out and a nightmare when it bird nests on ya but stick w it. It's a great mid day setup.

  6. Sucks painting them but if your keeping it in all year you want to do it. That's why you lose speed not from all the crap on bottom but fiberglass absorbs water eventually if not painted right, adds weight to the boat That's why you want to get a non painted boat out early to let it dry before a freeze.

wow! !! Didn't know that... I figured the glass was not permeable. Good to know.

  7. Best of luck with it Jeff as it is really a beautiful boat.

Txs Les. Yea, really hate to paint it but if I'm docking g all year. Might be th the way to go. Now we have to get together again. It's been too long.

  9. Im going to get the on off. Few other web sites suggested it also. I didnt think you could put that on the metal parts such ad the motor though?

I may look into painting it too. Im hoping its due to the bottom being so dirty but my boat used to run 40mph and now im lucky to get 34 out of it. Maybe the slime will slide off a little better w paint during the year. Just hate to paint a nice white hull.

Txs for the tips guys. Going to try myself this year rather than pay to have it done. Doesnt sound too bad. Few hours of hard work.
